Chapter 55
At 2 PM, Cordy arrived with Vince at a location in the suburbs, where Jay and Zoe were filming the
series.
Since it was a period drama, they built a castle town as a prop.
One of the film crew members led her to Jay, who was sitting behind a large video camera and
directing the shooting.
He turned to Cordy and politely nodded for a moment before returning his attention to work.
Cordy did not disturb him and she simply sat nearby to watch them work-at the moment, Zoe and the
male lead, Hal Abbott, were in position in preparation for the next scene.
“Scene 3, sequence 1, take 1. Action!”
Zoe was abruptly cornered by Hal against the wall, their eyes fixed upon each other.
It was Cordy’s first time watching professionals film a scene and she was impressed-especially by the
expressiveness in Zoe’s eyes.

There was a struggling look in Zoe’s eyes before she quietly closed her eyes, giving in.
A tear trickled down the corner of her eyes, but just as their lips met, Zoe suddenly turned in avoidance,
and both actors went out of character.
“Cut!” Jay barked.
“Sorry,” Zoe wiped her tears and apologized to the crew-there was supposed to be a kiss, but she
ruined the scene.
“Everyone from this scene can take five,” Jay announced nonetheless. “We will start with the next
scene first.
With that, Zoe left the set, and an assistant promptly came up with a glass of water, asking worriedly,
“What’s wrong, Zoe?”
“It’s nothing. I was just a little out of sorts,” Zoe replied.
“Well, kissing scenes can be uncomfortable when it’s with someone you didn’t know. Should I ask Ms.
Darling to talk to the director to postpone the kiss scene?”
“No,” Zoe said.
Most film projects would arrange so that the lead characters would shoot their kiss scenes first, so that
they would get in character sooner.
Zoe certainly knew that none of it had anything to do with her familiarity toward Hal-it was a
psychological reaction.
“Alright, then let’s get you back to your trailer for a break.”
Zoe nodded, but just as she was about to turn and leave, she spotted a familiar face and blinked.
Cordy Sachs?”
“Hello, Ms. York,” Cordy greeted her, approaching her with a handshake. “You’re more beautiful than
you look on screen.”
“Well, it’s a shame you’re not an actress either,” Zoe said earnestly.
After all, she genuinely finds Cordy exceedingly ravishing-even Cordy’s facial features were a perfect

Her brother certainly had taste.
“My acting is terrible,” Cordy replied humbly.
Zoe smiled. “Jay told me you’re interested in my endorsement?”
“Yes, but I won’t impose. Let’s discuss it over dinner after you’re done for the day.”
“Sure,” Zoe replied. “Actually, I have a friend joining me for dinner. Would you mind her joining us?”
“Of course not.”
“Oh, and you ordered the confectionery, yes?”
“I did.”
“Thanks.”
“It’s nothing.”
And with the polite exchange, Zoe left.
Cordy watched as she went.
She was under the impression that things might get rocky with Zoe, but she was more easy-going than
Cordy thought.
