Chapter 102
Dylan POV
My day was extremely difficult. | had to not only tackle spretty difficult school work, which | hadn't done in
months by the way, but I also had to deal with both humans and lycans alike, askingquestions left, right and
centre about the king and palace life.
Every single question rolled off people's mouth so smoothly, it was evident that they had absolutely no clue on
what I'd actually been through or how much every hit, or lashing or rape, played on my mind.
As soon as | stepped out into the fresh air a wave of coldness swept across my body, leaving goosebumps to rise
on both my bruised and uncovered
arms.
Don’t getwrong, I'd been cold all day after getting soaked in the downpour that enveloped the sky earlier
this morning. My clothes were still a bit damp from getting drenched in the rain a few hours prior, and | could
feel my teeth begin to chatter slightly as | followed the two alpha twins and their mates to the pack house.
My nerves quickly began to skyrocket as we passed the entrance to the human village. My sight wandered over
to it and my legs instantly stopped moving as | stared, triggering all four people in front ofto halt in their
tracks too.
“Hey, you ok?” Nick was next toin an instant, his arm wrapped around my shoulders before a gasp left him

“God, Dylan... you're freezing!” He quickly began to remove his blazer and tried to slip it over my shoulders, only
| stepped back and avoided the fact material. “Dylan, con...
...I shook my head at him and took another step back
“If | wear that he will know, He'd kill you without even asking why, mate or not.” Adrian’s shocked eyes shot to
my words..
“You're scared of him aren’t you?” The male alpha twin asked me. The fact that | made no sign that | was going
to respond, gave him all the confirmation he needed. It was a secret known to people with eyes and vigilant
enough to see it, | was terrified of the king. Every the’s in close proximity to me, I'm tense, just waiting for
sform of physical or mental attack, and | was waiting for the one that would destroycompletely. “Here!”
The Alpha quickly took his own blazer off and held it out to my shivering form. When | didn’t take it immediately
he sighed and walked behindslipping it on my skinny shoulders.
“His grace won't say anything about it to me. I'm an alpha, you've nothing to worry about. That was where he
was wrong. King Josh may not say anything to him about it, but I turn down the kings jacket this morning, when
he seeswearing this one, I'll be the one to get the brunt of his anger. Still, | couldn't exactly say no to an
alpha either and so | shrugged my arms through, and wrapped the extra fabric around my overly thin torso.
“Thank you, Alpha.” | whispered, allowing my eyes to meet the floor in front of him. | sucked in a breath as he
didn’t say anything further, he just walked back to his mate and took her hand in his.
“Con, we should get back.” Arya spoke in a tone that implied she hadn't a care in the world, as she looped
her own arm through Nicks, while | just looked at the entrance to the human village within the district. My mom
was there right in that second, a ten minutes walk away, maybe less if | ran, knowing I couldn't hug her, or speak
to her in any way brought a sorrowful sigh to escape me, as | begrudgingly began to trudge behind the two
happy couples.
My sight reluctantly moved from my once loving home, to the figures in front of me, both couples held a sense of
love and devotion for their partners and with it brought forward a whole plethora of new feelings rushing through
me.
On the one hand | was overjoyed that Nick had met someone who he was obviously completely smitten with, not
only that but the fact that she herself was willing to go through with a human marriage, despite how the wolves
were brought up, warmed my heart so much so that | couldn't help but smile
at them both.
On the other hand, seeing them both together, as happy as they were sent a pang of complete and utter
dejection through me. | couldn't help but compare our situations, | would never have anything remotely similar
to him. It truly was bitter sweel.
We made our way to the pack house slowly, | felt my speed decrease drastically as we approached the big
house, | paused as | looked at the doors in front of me. Fear flew through my veins as | gazed upon the building.
It would be my first tever setting foot into the pack house, into any pack house. Even from the outside the

The palace was huge, but it was basically empty. The workers there kept themselves to themselves, and | was
put into isolation for the most part. Here though? In this one house, every single wolf with in the district resided

houses within the wolf village, but every school student, every guard or teacher, every wall with a position of
power, all lived under this one roof. That meant every lashing that was given, was given by someone within
those walls, every punishment that was allocated was done so by a wolf who lived here.
That notion alone was terrifying.
| had to take a breath, to try to calm the shake in my hands as | wrapped Adrian's jacket tighter around myself,
praying that the fabric would givesform of comfort, pleading that I'd receive smanifestation of
protection. In the end | stepped forward and through the doors, my trembling fingers wrapped tightly around the
blazer | was given only minutes before.
| stopped in the layer, and lifted my head, my eyes widening drastically at the sight that lay before me.
