“How could you even think that | pity you?” The Beta placed his large hand on my cheek and | subconsciously
found myself leaning into it, sniffling as | tried my hardest not to break down on him, as we both remained sat on
the lakes edge. His eyes were beautiful as they held my gare, causing a slight blush to take over my cheeks.
“I think you are the strongest, most amazing person | have ever met. | don’t pity you at all... all you will ever get
fromis my support, and my respect.” | sat there gaping my mouth at him like a fish out of water. | never in a
million. years would have thought he would ever say something like that to me. He looked atfor a split
second before
clearing his throat and chuckling awkwardly, he retracted his hand in haste and allowed his eyes to look over at
the lake once more. I'm just saying, you've been through so much, and you're still here. That alone takes an
inner strength unknown to many.”
“But you and | both know that | wouldn't be here if things had gone my way.” He shook his head and smiled

“I won't do anything stupid while I'm here. | genuinely want to survive long enough to see that bastard king
dead!” 1 watched his face drop slightly as he looked at me, you could see his orbs shining with something that
made them look bright and daring. It was very enticing to say the least.
“You've changed...” he stated with a small smile. | didn’t think | had changed all that much, | knew my view on
the world had forever been tainted, and | knew my mental state will most likely never return completely to what
it was, but apart from the obvious my views have remained pretty steadfast. The king had to go....
“I haven't really, I've just realized the king doesn’t deserve to have my life as well as everything else. | owe him
nothing.” I sighed and smiled slightly, it took a while, but | finally realized that if | die then that means the king
would have won, and | refuse to give him that satisfaction. “I can’t exactly give up, can I? Not now anyway?
“That's the girl I've missed. The one who fights no matter what comes her way.” Lewis smiled atagain, and
brushed a piece of hair out of my face so that his view of my eyes was clear. | pulled away from him quickly, | felt
nothing b self conscious now anytsomeone looked atfor too long. Everything aboutwas hideous.
My scars were excessive, deep and prominent, a constant reminder of the abuse | had felt at the king's
command. | would describe my fras even less than slender due to my malnourishment which had also given
my skin a sickly grey tone to it, and even my hair was slowly turning white due to the stress of everything. | was
a walking talking disaster, and | wasn’t even 15 yet.
It was silent between us for a couple of minutes. | do admit that it was nice just sitting next to Lewis though, just
by his presence alone | felt comfortable and safe, | could feel the heat of his body radiating off of him and in turn
it warmedup too. | really don’t think Lewis would ever know just how much he had done for me.
“Hey, do you know how to swim?” He suddenly broke the quiet and turned his head towith a small smile on
his
face.

rippling around my already soaked bare feet
“Why not? It's been nice day, and the water looks very inviting. He chuckled himself and stood up taking his top
off quickly showing his very toned torso. | couldn't help but steal a quick glance, the sight maderaise my
eyebrows and a secret blush crept up my cheeks as | silently enjoyed the view. Even after everything that’s
happened | couldn't deny that | found Lewis extremely hot. | was still a female after all, and despite all the things
King Josh had putthrough I still very much liked men.
Once Lewis was in his boxers he effortlessly and gracefully dived into the water and cup with a mischievous
splash soaking my still sat, clothed body. | laughed and stood up, | hesitated when it cto taking my own
clothes off, | knew my body would be really hideous to look at, and so as soon as the thought of taking my
clothes off entered head | quickly erased and jumped in the lake, cannon ball style, still fully clothed and
Splashing everything as | went in. | most definitely wasn’t as graceful as Lewis was, not that | tried to be.
