A loud bang shook through the pack house and with it, everyone seemed to cringe. | assumed the alpha was
once again arguing with my mother about everything that was currently going on in the world, and how it could
be the end of the Lycan rule.
Good riddance if you asked me.
It was no secret that the border to one of the far eastern sectors had been closed, and anyone with half a brain
would be able to figure out exactly who had closed it. Not only that, but with the human districts destroying the
one thing that was universally used throughout the world to conduct punishments on, lycans districts were
becoming tense.
I simply sat, in the family room of my house, reading a simple book and going over my notes for the exams that

"I'm not dumb you know, you're thinking about Queen Dylan again." | sighed knowing that | couldn't exactly
deny it.

turn 17, | will give you my mark and hope that you will return it." | stated with a large smile that seemed to make

how broken she was when we got her out..." Jana cup next toand sat down, stroking my arm gently
while resting her head on my shoulder.
"l also know how much pain you took to protect her." That's true, | would most likely have scars for the rest of
my life. "I love you Adrian, but seeing you like that... | just think we need to keep our heads down, won't really
matter anyway, | believe it'fall work out in the end." She didn't understand just how much the humans had been
going through for the past 5 years.

"Jana, | can't keep my head down anymore... I've... I've seen a human house, I've seen how they're living. It isn't
right." | turned my body to face my mate and wrapped one of my own arms around her shoulders, and looked
directly into her green eyes. "An alpha is supposed to protect their pack, | believe that humans are a huge part
of my pack, of my family. My sisters mate is human, I'm sorry, but | cannot and will not stand by watching their
oppression, while doing nothing about it." | gently kissed her temple, before pulling her into my body, | inhaled
her intoxicating scent, and smiled when she too allowed her eyes to flutter closed.
I couldn't wait until she would be able to feel the full mate bond.
"Why would you risk everything though, just for humans?" | knew how difficult it was for sof my kind to
cto terms with equality, hell, even Arya struggled with it, until she met Nick and realized just how bad
things had gotten.
"It isn't just for humans, Jana. It's for a world that's equal, do you honestly think our peers deserve to be
humiliated and tortured for acting the sway we do?" She frowned and shook her head slightly. "Do you think
it's right for human children to be put to manual work while we get the education that everyone rightfully «
deserves?"
