Chapter 68
“Thank you, Lewis.” He smiled atagain, and gently tucked a piece of stray hair behind my ear, then cleared
his throat and took a step back away from me.
“I'll see you in a bit.” | took a deep breath in before opening the door to the dining area and entering.
Immediately my gaze met that of the dowager queen as | stepped carefully towards the table.
“You are late!” The old queen spoke, indignation laced in her voice at my tardiness. My gaze met hers and | was
instantly met with a look that screamed complete disapproval, however despite that, she truly was the poster
child of perfection. Her hair looked perfect, not a single curl was out of place, her athletic figure was subtly
shown under her gown, her face had a light coat of what I can tell was finely ground makeup that would have
costat least 2 months rent and probably a lashing. It was almost genuinely ridiculous how perfect the lady
was.
“Maybe you're early?” | tried to crack a small smile at the check of my statement, but was met with a face
completely stoic and void of any humor, which in turn hadwincing knowing a berating was coming my
way.
“A good queen would arrive early, not make jokes to cover up her insolence.” | didn’t think about my actions
when my eyes rolled in my head at her words, it instantly caused outrage to breakout on the dowager queens

sunease. At least | knew what | was getting with the King, but now that he wasn’t there | was out of my
depth, | somewhat missed the man.
“As you know, once your mate bond has been established and you have accepted my sons mark, your coronation
won't be far behind. It's important that you start to learn the ways of lycan royalty.” She elegantly explained
before the waiters bought our food out. | sighed as | looked at the thousandth bowl of soup Id been given since
living here. | was getting extremely fed up of soup. The queen had a lovely looking chicken lunch, complete with
salad and boiled potatoes. It made my mouth salivate slightly, “You'll be required to participate in lessons, such
as lycan history, pack hierarchy, classical music and ballroom dancing.”
What
Huh? Ballroom dancing? Classical music? What are they trying to turninto?
“I'm not sure dancing is a good idea, I'm not...” | was cut off by her hands slamming down on the table at my
apprehensiveness, it caused my eyes to widen.
“The opinions of a human are irrelevant. Especially one like you, who has yet to hold rank. You will participate in
all the compulsory lessons and you will do so to the best of your abilities. | was going to allow you longer to heal,
however you will now partake in your first lesson this afternoon.” This afternoon? Does she mean after lunch?
But Lewis said | could do whatever | wanted, | haven't had freedom like that in months. | suppose it was stupid of
waltz.”
The waltz?! I'm gonna end up dead, | couldn't dance, | had no rhythm at all, so trying to learn how to officially
ballroom dance was a task that was virtually impossible.
