Derek shot Chris a look. Noticing that he had said something wrong, Chris shut up. Ethan was staring ahead into the
air. If I hadn’t agreed to her request, maybe she’d still be… When Christine took Felix home back then, the whole
family objected to their relationship. They knew how chaotic Felix’s family was, and they wanted nothing to do with
it.
Christine looked at him with tearful eyes. “Ethan, I won’t marry anyone else but him. You won’t let me suffer, will
you?”
In the end, he relented. He thought he could ensure her safety, but alas, things didn’t go as he wished.
“Still, Felix didn’t seem like he belonged with the Wallaces. He was a gentleman. Once he married Christine, he said
he wouldn’t fight for the family’s inheritance. He really loved her,” said Chris, worried that Ethan might blame
himself for Christine’s death.
Irvin said, “Triston was a gentleman too, but he’s now the Wallace Family’s young master.” To that family, the young
master was like the crown prince of old. The moment the current family head died, he could take over. The position
of young master could only be granted through merit. Since the family head had a lot of sons, the competition was
stiff. It was not an exaggeration to say that Triston was indeed a crown prince. The Wallaces were rich and powerful

Chris was a brave soul, but the mention of Triston made his skin crawl. “Can you not talk about him? It gives me the
heebie-jeebies. He’s supposed to be a pianist. He has been playing the piano ever since he was a kid, but now he’s
a young master of his family. He must have been hiding his true colors really well.”
Derek added, “But he really just wanted to focus on playing the piano before Felix died.”
Chris got goosebumps. “That makes it worse.”
Derek smiled. “Some people are born to be leaders. If they somehow decide to step into their element, then none
can compete with them.”
Benjamin blurted, “What if he gets into a fight with Ethan?” Benjamin thought Ethan was born to be a leader too.
Irvin poked Benjamin’s forehead. “He doesn’t bear any grudges against Ethan, so why would they get into a fight?”
Chris blurted, “Women. That’s what they can fight over. What if he and Ethan fall in love with the same woman?”
Irvin rolled his eyes. “Are you stupid? Ethan doesn’t even have anyone he likes, and you’re already thinking of a love
triangle?”
“Hey, it’s just hypothetical. What if he finds someone he likes, and Triston likes that girl as well?” Ooh, if that
happens, there would be a show.
Tyler had been silent until this point. He said, “I think it’s hard enough for Ethan to find someone he likes.” He wasn’t
the only one who thought so; everyone else did too.
Chris persuaded, “Hey, Ethan, you should get someone you like.”
“But he’s married. Can he even do that?” Benjamin blinked. He disapproved of that idea.
“Oh, Benjamin, you’re still young. You don’t know how adults work.” Chris looked at Benjamin and almost fell over
with laughter.
Benjamin tensed up and seriously said, “I don’t, but Ethan is already married. The marriage is protected by law. If
he cheats on her, she might get a divorce.”
Ethan aside, everyone looked at Benjamin like he was a fool. No woman would get a divorce after they were
married to someone in the Knight family, especially not someone like Alice. Her face was ruined, she was stupid,
and she had no skills to call her own. Not to mention Ethan would deal with her once the Caroline case was settled.
She’d have to leave even if she didn’t want to. Oh, Benjamin, you’re so innocent.
“So, when are you getting a divorce?” Chris thought that would happen sooner or later. He thought Ethan would
deal with it as soon as he could.
Ethan narrowed his eyes. Divorce? Why should I? I wanted to marry her. Why should I get a divorce? “You guys go

My friends want me to get a divorce, and my wife doesn’t even acknowledge that she’s married. How much of a
failure this marriage can be?
“What? But you just got here.” Chris was surprised.
Everyone looked at him in surprise as well. Ethan might be aloof and a man of few words, but he was easygoing
around them. Yet now, he seemed mad. They wondered if it was something they said.
“Unlike you people, I’m married.” Ethan gave them a look before leaving.
Bradley’s lips twitched. He had a feeling that Ethan was being a bit proud around them. Was I hearing things?
“What’s going on?”
“Is he mad at us?”
“I don’t think so though.” The men were still in a daze even after Ethan was gone.
“What did he mean by he was married and different from us?” Irvin was thinking about the message Ethan left.
Benjamin said, “Maybe he’s in a hurry to go home and consummate his marriage? He went to work right after he
got married, and he hasn’t slept with her yet.” It was simplistic, but sometimes, things were just that simple.
“Are you mad, Benjamin? As if he’d do that. He only married her because of Caroline, not because he loves her. I
bet he’ll get a divorce once he settles Caroline’s case. He won’t sleep with her,” Chris rebutted.
“Chris, he left after you said something to him. What did you say?” There was a twinkle of musing in Derek’s eyes.
Maybe they won’t sleep together, but I think I know why he left all of a sudden.
