Chapter 266
As | looked out the car window, there was a moment when it felt like tears were streaming down, yet my face
was clean and dry.
Even my vision was remarkably clear.
Just as | got home, the real estate agent suddenly called to tellthat a buyer had decided to purchase the
apartment at the Lake Garden.
And they were generous, not negotiating the price at all.
| was asked to go over and meet with the buyer. If everything was fine, we could sign the contract and proceed
with the process.
On my way to the Lake Garden, | kept thinking that if this apartment had found a buyer just a little bit earlier, the
Charlotte Jeweley wouldn't have had to rely on the RF Group Group's investment. Unfortunately, there were no
"ifs."
However, having a big tree to lean on has its pros and cons.
Arriving at the Lake Garden, | was surprised to see the "buyer" standing next to the agent. "Mr. Brown, it's you...
you're interested in this apartment?"

"Yes, it's me."
lan seemed completely unsurprised and very relaxed. "Ms. Wilson, we meet again."
| smiled, "What a coincidence. You fundedat noon, and now you're buying my apartment in the afternoon. It
seems you're quite good for my fortune?"
"Well, | hope | can boost the Charlotte Jeweley's prospects too. | have very high hopes for it," lan replied half-
jokingly.
| chuckled slightly and got back to the point. "Are you sure you want to buy this apartment?"
"Indeed." lan looked around and said regretfully, "This apartment still looks new, and the decoration is quite
exquisite, showing a lot of thought. Why would you want to sell it?"
"Given by my ex-husband," | answered straightforwardly and candidly. "It has no meaning if | keep it. It's better
to convert it into cash."
When in love, even a single strand of the other person's hair would hold special significance.
When apart, even a strand of their hair on the floor could be an additional annoyance, let alone such a large
apartment.
It constantly remindsof how foolish and ridiculous | used to be.
lan cocked his brows. "Ex-husband? Did he cheat on you?"
"Something like that," | answered casually.
The relationship between Ryan andwas too complicated. It wasn't just about infidelity. It was far more
complex. But with lan, our relationship was purely professional, so there was no need for deep

discussions.
He sighed and oddly defended men. "Perhaps, sthings are just necessary means to an end."

I almost laughed. "Mr. Brown, are you going to say he just made a common mistake that all men would make?"
"No, of course not." lan awkwardly changed the subject. "I'm sure | want this apartment. Let's sign the contract!"
“Alright.”
After signing the contract, | took one last look at the apartment where | had invested so much effort in

It was quite good that both Ryan and the apartment were cleanly concluded today.
From now on,.it was a new life!
However, while | was thinking this way, not everyone shared the sthoughts.
On the day we officially moved to the office, even before | had settled in, Jane rushed over from another office.
"Oh my God!!"
She placed a tablet in front of me, extremely excited. "Look, are we starting to hit a lucky streak? Our store just
went live today, and we've already received a big order!"
| glanced at it, somewhat surprised. "Is it actually a custom order?"
"Yes, she placed the order and contactedimmediately, saying she wants a custom engagement dress. She'll
cover this afternoon for a fitting." Hearing this, | felt something was off.
Our custom orders weren't cheap, and the online store only listed design prices. Additional costs for fabrics and
other requirements were charged later. The total price was quite high.
Our newly launched, relatively unknown store hadn't started any promotions yet. Who would be willing to place a
custom order with us so quickly?
