Book Two Chapter Twenty-Five

I snuck into the house to shower before seeing Channing and Evie. | also needed a moment away from my over-

tic husband. | love him but he’s drivinginsane. | understand the situation was stressful but | handled it.

| can handle myself just fine with or without a man by my side.

“You know it,” Lily grumbled. She was equally as frustrated with her mate as | was with mine.

After | was cleaned up and dressed, | headed downstairs. | gasped when | saw my mother holding Evie.

“Mom.”

“Mama,” Evie squealed.

“Baby girl,” my mother’s eyes filled with tears and | rushed to console her.

“I'm so glad you are safe,” | squeezed her as tightly as | could with Evie between us.

“I was so worried about you,” she cried. | pulled back to look at her.

“If you think any of these alphas are scary, Lily is like a nightmare,” I smiled when she chuckled. “Despite what

any of them said, | had things handled. | just can’t handle the taste of blood,” | gaged.

“How's the baby?” She rushed out as | took Evie from her. My mother’s hands found my shirt-covered belly.

“Baby is good, making mommy sick, but good. We already got checked out.” | told her. Evic snuggled intoas

I rubbed her back.

“Mom,” Channing exclaimed as he walked through the front door. He quickly wrappedin a hug.

“I'm okay, sweetie,” | reassured him.

“I know you are, but it doesn’t stopfrom worrying.” He mumbled and my heart swelled. | have missed my

boy so much these last few months.

“I think Princess missed you,” Channing smiled as he pulled back. Evie was already asleep.

“I missed her and my boys.”

It wasn’t long before Blake and my father cinto the house. Blake kissedbefore kissing our sleeping

princess. Sometimes | forget how little she still is. And now we have another on the way.

“How are you feeling? Have you eaten?” He asked as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, kissing my

temple. The thought of food made my stomach churn and | resisted the urge to gag.

“I'm okay,” | told him as | rested my head on his chest. He may drivecrazy but I still loved him. He was my

home.

Aspen’s panicked voice filled my head and my heart stopped.

“Mom, what's wrong?” Channing questioned.

“Where are you?” | linked Aspen.

“Mom, she’s gone. | don’t know what to do?” He cried.

“Textthe address.” | ended the link. “Mom, | need you to take her,”

| gently handed my sleeping baby to my mother.

“Baby, what the hell is going on?” Blake demanded.

“It's Aspen,” | exclaimed, before rushing to get my purse where | left my phone.

“Slow down. What are you talking about?” My mate grabbed my arm forcingto look at him.

“I don’t know. He needsand | need to go,” | shouted. | pulled out of his hold and grabbed my purse before

marching outside to my vehicle.

| tried to open the driver's side door but Blake slammed his palm on the window. Lily let out a murderous growl.

She was anxious to get to her

pup.

“You need to explain before you go anywhere,” Blake commanded and | crossed my arms over my chest.

“I don’t know what happened. He needsand I'm going, Blake. Now, f ucking move before Lily makes you,” |

promised. This need to protect my son was so strong | was ready to rip my mate apart to get to him. Aspen

neededand | wasn’t about to let him down.

His face softened as | glared at him.

“I'll drive,” | furrowed my brow. “I'm not letting you go alone, baby. Now, get in before | change my mind.” |

quickly kissed his cheek before | rushed around the SUV to the passenger side. Once | was seated | looked at my

phone, he had senta text message with the address. | told it to Blake and he took off with SUVs following

behind

us.

“What would he be doing on that side of the city?” He questioned.

“I know he is seeing someone, but | don’t have any details.” | shrugged. My stomach was in knots the entire

drive and even more so when Blake pulled the vehicle in front of the apartment building.

| jumped out of the SUV and rushed into the building before Blake could stop me. All | cared about was finding

my boy.

“Aspen,” | called out before | saw Landon standing down the hallway.

“He’s in here,” he replied and | marched into the open apartment door to stop in my tracks. | took a deep breath

and her scent hit me.

“Luna,” Lily confirmed.

“Mom?” Aspen exited one of the rooms. The apartment was small and he filled up the space.

“Oh, thank the goddess you are okay. What happened?” | breathed out.

“Ryley, what the hell? Anyone could be in this f ucking building,” Blake growled behindbut I ignored him. |

was too worried about my son and Lily literally just killed a man. | can take care of myself.

“I don’t know what happened, but Tessa is gone, Mom. She left without a word.” Aspen’s panicked voice broke

my heart. | wrapped my arms around him.

“Tessa is the girl you toldabout at Christmas?” | asked, knowing the answer.

“Yes. She and her friend, Sarah, live here. | was trying to get them to move to the pack house but she refused.

I'm worried the council took her, Mom, she wouldn't have left without a word.”

“Did you know she was a Luna wolf?” | looked up at him when he pulled back.

“What are you talking about? How do you know? Have you met her?” He demanded and his father growled

behind me.

“Lily can scent other Luna wolves, Aspen. There are three scents, yours, hers, and someone | met earlier today

at the mall.”

“I don’t understand, the only other person who lives here is Sarah,” he said.

“Is she young, blonde, and very pretty?”

“That would be Sarah,” Landon answered from the door.

“Baby, what the hell is going on?” Blake questioned as | watched Aspen.

“We had a Luna wolf hiding in our pack and now she is gone. We need to send out a team to look for them.” |

turned towards my mate. “They could be in danger.”
