Not long after leaving the hall, Scarlett saw Raymond o n the phone in the corridor.
Scarlett did not know who was talking to Raymond on the phone or what he was saying, but Raymond was frowning and looking terrible.
He was in a bad mood.
Seeing Scarlett, he immediately hung up the phone and stood there looking at her.
Scarlett moved towards him and smiled faintly," Thank you, for those words." She was truly grateful to him.
Raymond looked at her, swallowing, "Not at all." He knew that she had suffered a lot in the three years she married him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThinking about what Frank said on the phone, he had a lump in his throat and did not know how to bring up those things.
Alexander was right. He was not the one who had bullied Scarlett, but it was because of his treatment of Scarlett that they had dared to do so.
Scarlett was confused by his reaction and raised her eyebrows, "I'll go to the lounge." But she couldn't care less how he reacted.
Then, she moved towards the elevator.
"Scarlett." Raymond called her. His deep voice seemed to suppress something, but she had no interest in probing.
She looked back, frowning, "Yes?" 'Is there anything we haven't cleared up between us?' Scarlett thought.
Raymond never found it so hard to ask a question.
"You must have a hard tthose three years, huh?" He wanted to hear the answer from her, though he knew this question was meaningless and even hurtful.
Only in this way could he realize what a jerk he was! Scarlett didn't expect him to ask such a question. Although they divorced for a year, she clearly remembered everything in those three years.
During those dark days, of course, she suffered a lot of grievances.
But Raymond asked this question too late. There was n o point to her at any rate.
Finally, those hard days cto an end, and she somehow managed to survive.
"Yes or no doesn't matter anymore." "I'm sorry, Scarlett. Really." Raymond found there was nothing he could do but apologize to her.
The other thing he could do for her was to have all the people who had bullied and hurt her cto her and apologize.

Scarlett looked at him for a while, then stopped smiling and entered the elevator without saying a word.
He stood watching the elevator door closing.
Standing in the elevator, Scarlett did not have a look a t him.
He knew he was a jerk.
Scarlett sat in the lounge for half an hour before Clair entered and she retired to her room.
With so much going on at the party, someone must be having trouble sleeping.
The Tank family's villa was still ablaze with light at 11: 00 in the evening.
Larry went back to the villa at 10:30 to tell Ben about the coincidences at the party. Larry's grandfather, who was up at night, overheard their conversation and then called the whole family into the living room.
Larry showed his grandfather sof the photos he took of Scarlett and the photos he found of Scarlett on the Internet. Hardly had his grandfather seen these photos when tears welled up in his eyes. Such a tough man was in a state of tremulous excitement at that moment, "Perry! She's Perry! Thank god, we found her!" No one in the Tank family didn't know that there was one person in this family who couldn't be mentioned, that was, Pearl Tank, the aunt of Larry who was abducted and sold 40 years ago.
