Raymond hugged her tightly, leaned back casually, and suddenly gave a low laugh, "Well, it's really sweet." Scarlett leaned against his chest, feeling as if his laughter and words were drifting into her heart through her ears.
She lowered her head and couldn't help smiling.
The sunlight of the afternoon penetrated through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the whole living room was quiet.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtScarlett paused for a while, then looked up at Raymond, and said, "It's 1 pm now. Go to the guest bedroom to get ssleep." She hadn't noticed Raymond had dark circles under his eyes until she had gotten closer to him.
Raymond had not lied. He indeed had not slept well last night.
The fact that Scarlett had agreed to get back together with him was like a dream. He had doubted he was dreaming, so he had been afraid if he fell asleep, he would find everything was false when he woke up.
He had been thinking about her grin when she had gotten into the car all night.
He had also thought of the beautiful fairies in the storybooks that Sally had read for him when he had been a child. If there were fairies, they must look like Scarlett.
When he was in a daze, Scarlett got up from his arms.
Raymond looked up at her and asked, "How about you?" "I don't have to go to the company this afternoon." Raymond raised his eyebrows and said, "As an assistant, you are quite free." Scarlett didn't plan to hide it from him. Hearing his words, she replied, "Yes. After all, it's just a part-tjob." "Part-tjob?" "Do you have any problem with it?" "Nope." But he had never heard of such a high-end part-tjob.
Scarlett glanced at her phone and reminded, "It's already 1:05 pm." Raymond looked at her for a moment and then strode into the guest bedroom.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmScarlett stared after him until he entered the room, and then she raised her hands to cover her face.
Wasn't Raymond a cold and arrogant man? Why did he keep speaking sweet words now? "Scarlett!" Hearing Raymond's low voice coming from the guest bedroom, Scarlett stopped thinking nonsense, walked over, and stood at the door. Seeing him sit at the bedside, she asked, "What can | do for you, Mr. Shaw?" "| can't sleep without pajamas." Scarlett raised her eyebrows and asked, "Is a bathrobe okay?" "I don't think so," Raymond said, beckoned to her, and continued, "Chere." "What's up?" Given his habit of pulling her into his arms at every turn, Scarlett didn't move.
"Chere," he said again with helplessness and love in his eyes.
Scarlett couldn't bear to reject him anymore, so she walked over and said, "Don't hug me." A man and a woman were alone in the sbedroom. Scarlett forced herself to raise her vigilance.
Raymond blinked slightly and said, "You're thinking too much." Then, he bent over, opened the drawer of the bedside table, and took out a box.
Scarlett recognized the box, so she was startled.
When she recovered from the shock, Raymond had already taken out the bracelet inside.
He rolled up her sleeve, put the bracelet on her left wrist, and said, "Beautiful." Then, he paused, looked up at her, and continued, "I'm talking about your hand, Scarlett." Scarlett looked down at the bracelet on her left wrist and said, "Thank you." "Can you do something to repay me?" She looked up at him and said, "What do you want?" "I want to hold you while sleeping." Scarlett snorted, "You wish, Raymond!"
