Chapter 1424
This time, the bullet pierced Tyler, and his blood swiftly stained his shirt. Stunned, he looked down at his chest and
froze. i
After some time, he slowly looked up at Vicky’s unforgiving expression.
Her eyes wavered a little when their eyes met.
"Tyler, I've told you to stop," she forced herself to say calmly.
Tyler smiled mockingly. He looked at the half-unconscious Harvey and was about to punch him again when another
bullet hit him in the chest.
Blood spurted everywhere and he staggered back involuntarily, causing more blood to drip down to the floor. It was

Vicky quickly ran up and helped up Harvey, who had fallen to the ground. "Harvey, are you okay?"
"Never better," said Harvey weakly.
"Tyler is too hurt to summon his men back for the time being. Let's get out of here quickly."
With Vicky's support, she and Harvey left the place without a second thought.
Tyler clutched his chest and looked at Vicky's retreating figure before blacking out to the floor.
A month later, in a room inside a mansion.
Harvey turned to Vicky, who looked outside the window.
"Vicky, are you really going to leave?" he asked softly.
"Tyler will never forgive me for shooting him. He might even kill me out of hatred, so I don't see a way out of that
other than leaving this place."
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault. If it weren't because of me, you and Tyler..."
"No. Things wouldn't have ended well for me and Tyler even if you weren't in the picture. Our marriage was already
breaking, and you were just a convenient excuse," Vicky chimed in calmly.
Vicky did not seem to want to talk about that topic anymore, so she turned to Harvey and asked, "Has all the
arrangement been made?"
"Yeah," said Harvey solemnly. "Stoneford City has been in a lockdown for the past month. People can come in but
can't go out, so it's not that easy to get out of the city now. Still, our chances of being discovered will get higher the
longer we stay. I've asked my men to look into the matter, and they reported back that it's best to leave today."
Vicky nodded. "Okay. Let's get a move on, then."

Vicky walked out of the mansion with a tired expression when she spotted a familiar figure leaning nonchalantly
against the car door from the corner of her eyes.
The figure was smoking a cigarette, and the smoke clouding his head made it difficult for Vicky to see his face
clearly.
After the smoke had cleared, Vicky was stunned to see who it was.
"Tyler..."
Hearing her calling his name, Tyler slowly raised his head and looked at her coldly. "So, have you been enjoying
yourself with Harvey for the past month?" he asked.
Vicky's eyes trembled with disbelief. "Tyler, you..."
Tyler smirked. "Come now, you're making it seem like you're the victim here when you shot me twice so you can
elope with-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Harvey's angry voice cut him off.
"Tyler, can you please just come back to reality?! Stop making up things that didn't happen!"
