Avery had checked Tyler’s schedule and knew he would not be leaving the premises. If he was not in his office, he

had to be in a meeting.

Avery inputted her fingerprint and opened the door to his office, deciding to wait for Tyler's return.

The ability to come and go from the Hart estate as well as Tyler's office felt empowering to her, and she prided

herself on it.

Yesterday, Avery had been restless ever since Harvey came to Vicky's rescue.

For a man as intelligent as Tyler, he should have been able to deduce that those journalists were there at her

bidding to humiliate Vicky. Moreover, Tyler had shown a genuine intention to rescue her when it happened at the

time, which confirmed Avery's earlier belief that Tyler saw Vicky differently.

Avery thought Tyler would question her about it afterward, but he did not. He had not even mentioned Vicky's name

and proceeded to drop Avery off at home. He did not even show any trace of anger or suspicion.

Avery gradually began to calm down and allowed herself to believe that Vicky was, after all, nothing more than a

tool for Tyler's pleasure.

Avery felt a lot more at ease with such thought in mind.

Entering Tyler's office, she stood by the window and watched the bustling traffic outside.

The Hart Corporation office building was situated in the heart of the city, and the scenery held a unique charm from

this point of view.

'It's no wonder that Tyler often likes standing here,' she mused to herself.

Eventually, she grew bored of it and returned to the couch.

On the coffee table in front of the couch was a stack of documents.

At first, Avery did not pay much attention to them and carefully moved the files to avoid spilling water on them as

she poured herself a glass. As she did, however, a photograph slipped out from among the files.

Avery paused, and her eyes widened.

Opening the document, Avery was shocked to find that it contained information about Vicky.

Simultaneously, she discovered marriage and divorce certificates in the stack of files and realized Tyler...had found

out that Vicky was his ex-wife.

An ominous feeling took over her, and she hastily started looking through the investigative materials.

Eventually, she relaxed slightly as she read.

All the investigation all pointed to the knowledge that Tyler had once married Vicky, but it was merely a marriage of

convenience and they had never met according to the records. Because of that, Tyler did not even know what his

ex-wife looked like.

It seemed as though Old Mister Hart had erased the past and Tyler could no longer find out the truth.

Still, this was enough to fill Avery's heart with fear.

If she allowed the situation to escalate, Tyler might begin to suspect everything he was told. She realized that she

needed to move her plan ahead of time.

She closed the documents and placed them back where she found them before leaving Hart Corporation in a rush.
