Chapter 1701
Tyler returned late at night and assumed Vicky had gone to sleep. However, when he pushed open the bedroom
door and saw the familiar figure sitting on the couch, he narrowed his eyes.
"Why is she not asleep?" he asked Jade, his brow furrowed." Is she unwell again?"
"No," Jade replied softly. "Ms. Shaw said she's not very sleepy right now."
Tyler nodded gently. "You can o rest."
Approaching Vicky, he noticed that she was reading a book. His gaze landed on the book in her hands—a book he
bought about pregnancy care. His eyes sparkled with a hint of emotion, and his voice softened. "How do you feel
today?"
Vicky did not look up from her book. "I can carry this child to term."

Setting the book aside, she met the man's deep, dark eyes." After the child is born, I will entrust him to you. From
then on, we will sever all connections."
The warmth in his eyes, which had been so intense moments ago, vanished immediately. "What do you mean?"
"Last time, you said our grievances would end here," Vicky
replied calmly. "I know you want to keep this child, so I will entrust him to you. But from now on, we will be
strangers."
Tyler furrowed his brow. "Strangers? Do you want the child to grow up without a mother?"
"You've misunderstood me," Vicky said slowly. "We will be strangers to each other, but I still have the right to visit
my child."
Tyler finally understood what she meant, and he smiled coldly. "Is being with me that uncomfortable for you?"
Vicky looked into his eyes. "Tyler Hart, have you forgotten everything you did to me? Do you want me to pretend
that nothing happened and continue to be with you?"
"Why not?" Tyler looked at her in the same way. "I could pretend nothing happened back then, so why can't you do
the same now?"
Faced with his intimidating gaze, Vicky inexplicably felt overwhelmed.
"So, you want me to repay everything I owe you?" she refuted.
"I told you my plan ends here."
The atmosphere suddenly became tense.
Some things, when left unspoken, become emotional scars. The same could describe the state of Vicky and Tyler's
relationship.
Out of consideration for Vicky's pregnancy and her mood,

"I went too far at the wedding... I'm sorry."
His apology was stiff and devoid of any sincerity. Vicky knew he had no remorse and that he was apologizing just for
the sake of it.
"If you truly feel sorry for what you did to me, please respect my decision."
Tyler noticed Vicky's unwavering resolve, and his expression darkened. "Do you want the child to grow up in an
unhealthy environment without a mother?"
"As long as he is well-educated, the child will understand his parents' struggles," Vicky replied calmly. "After all, in
some families, having parents together isn't necessarily better than being apart."
"What if I don't let you see the child?"
Vicky fell silent for a moment. "Well, there's nothing I can do. M
Even if he continued to keep her locked up, she had no way out.
Tyler gritted his teeth, and his eyes darkened with evident displeasure.
