Chapter 391
Charlie said to Pat, “You can’t have such deep hostility toward Theresa.”
“I don’t want to, but your mind is not clear. I’ll get rid of her for you! I don’t want to see her in this house again,” Pat
said, walking aggressively toward the door.
Charlie stood up and stopped him. “Pat.”
Pat was furious. “Let go.” Suddenly, he felt that something was wrong. He turned his head and looked at Charlie
standing in front of him. “You… can stand up?” He was completely stunned and even thought he was hallucinating.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCharlie said, “I’m recovering. I can just barely stand up now.” Then he sat back down. “I signed the agreement so
Sarah wouldn’t pester me anymore. You know what kind of person she is, don’t you?”
Pat calmed down, sat down, and stared at Charlie’s legs. “How did your legs recover? What did the doctor say?”
Charlie said, “It was Theresa.”
Pat narrowed his eyes slightly.
Charlie said, “I kept her around because she was able to cure my legs. If it weren’t for her, I’d probably be disabled
for the rest of my life.” Because of her, he had the hope to get up and confidence in his future.
Pat didn’t say anything.
Charlie said, “So, can you not kick her out?”
Pat replied, “Hmm.” He could put up with it until Charlie got better. He didn’t think Charlie would necessarily be as
enamored with Theresa when he recovered as he was now. He finally knew why Charlie had signed the agreement.
He had thought Charlie was really out of his mind.
Outside the door, Theresa didn’t want to hear anymore and went to Leonard and Ben’s room.
In the evening, the family had dinner together except for Rose.
Leticia asked, “Isn’t Rose back yet?”
“She went out with Mr. Watson,” Brenda replied. “He’s been coming to get her every day lately.”
Leticia frowned.
Pat had mixed feelings.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmTheresa lowered her head to eat. Rose’s relationship with Jimmy had nothing to do with her, but she knew Jimmy
would go back to Rose sooner or later and no one could separate them unless Rose gave it up. Her father had
objected to her being with Jimmy, but she hadn’t listened to him back then.
Just then, Charlie said, “Mom, I want to move out.”
Leticia looked at him, “Why?”
“No reason. I just want a quiet environment.”
“No. What about the children if you move out?”
“They’ll go with me. Theresa will take care of them.”
“I’m worried about them.”
