Charlie stared after Dick’s car before his gaze fell on Leonard. He felt like Leonard had helped him just now, but he

wasn’t quite sure. He reached out to stroke Leonard’s hair, but Leonard deftly avoided his hand before it touched

him. “Well, I guessed wrong. He still dislikes me.

Leonard quickly went inside, ignoring Charlie who followed behind him.

Sitting on the sofa, Theresa was helping Ben trim his nails. When Charlie and Leonard came in, she didn’t say

anything.

Charlie walked over and sat next to her, watching in silence. He recalled that she had always helped the kids cut

their nails before they divorced. But at that time, he considered her a stepmother of his kids and never thought that

she did give birth to Leonard and Ben.

Leonard then ran over with a grin.

She demanded, “Did you give those things to Uncle Dick?”

Leonard obediently nodded. “Yes, mommy.”

Ben had no interest in their chat, just looking at Charlie with a complex expression. He wanted to talk about

something with him but still hesitated, remembering how Charlie hurt Theresa.

At the glance of Ben’s intense gaze, Charlie gave him a comforting smile. “Ben, come here. Let Daddy hug you.”

However, Ben just shook his head and replied in an indifferent tone, “No, sorry.” He then moved over to Theresa

quietly, watching her trim Leonard’s nails.

Charlie now realized that he was being excluded by Theresa and her children.
