Chapter 1259
“Alright!” Sherry turned around and held Isabel‘s hand.
Sylvia carried Flint in one hand and held Liam‘s hand with the other.
After they got out of the elevator and were about to leave the hospital, Sherry stopped. She released Isabel’s hand,
covered her mouth in a hurry, and ran to the trash can to throw up.
Sylvia immediately went up to her.
Sherry continued throwing up for quite a while before she recovered.
“Sherry, are you okay? Did you eat something bad?”
Sherry leaned against the wall feebly and said with furrowed brows, “I don‘t think so. When you guys weren‘t
around, I ate the food from the hospital cafeteria. I didn‘t order anything from outside.”
A nurse who happened to pass by overheard the conversation and added, “The food in our cafeteria is prepared
under hygienic conditions with the strictest protocols, so it‘s unlikely that you could have consumed something

Sherry shook her head. “I don‘t think so. I slept with the
blanket and never went out of the ward.”
What could have happened? “Aunt Sherry, are you pregnant?” Isabel asked all of a sudden.
Sylvia and the nurse were surprised.
Sherry widened her eyes in disbelief and denied her answer. “Impossible.”
She had taken birth control pills every time John had sex with her, so it was impossible for her to be pregnant.
Sylvia wore a worried expression. She then put Flint in Liam‘s care and said, “Liam, Issy, take care of Flint and Aunt
Sherry. I‘ll go get a queue number. Be right back.”
The two of them nodded obediently.
Sylvia went back into the hospital to get a queue number for consultation , leaving Sherry together with the kids.
Sherry puckered her lips and remained quiet.
An hour later, the doctor from gynecology came back with the report.
Appearing as pale as a sheet of paper, Sherry was seated on the chair with Sylvia and the kids beside her.
The doctor said, “Ms. Fowler, you are six weeks pregnant. You should rest more, eat less oily things, and don‘t
smoke or drink. Remember to come back for regular check
–ups.”
Sherry remained quiet throughout the consultation.
Sylvia nodded and answered on her friend‘s behalf,“ Thank you, doctor.” She then brought Sherry out of the
doctor‘s room.
Sherry sulked in silence with her head lowered as soon as she walked out of the room.
Sylvia asked in a small voice, “Sherry, the baby...”
“Syl, please give me some space.” “Okay. Let‘s go back first.”
They left the hospital and took a half an hour‘s ride to a house in the suburbs. Despite being in the suburbs, the
environment was great because of the convenience of traffic and accommodating commercial streets.
Sylvia had bought the house for Aunt Tonya when she decided to retire in the future, so it was under Aunt Tonya‘s

The house was not very big, but it was well–equipped with daily necessities. It was more than enough for Sherry to
live on her own.
Sherry collapsed on the couch as soon as she entered and did not speak a word.
Sylvia told Aunt Tonya to bring the kids back first so that she could stay back to accompany her friend. Isabel
insisted on staying, so Aunt Tonya took the boys home.
They stayed until late at night.
While Sylvia was still arranging her words to discuss the matter with Sherry, Isabel jumped onto the couch and sat
down with her arms crossed. She said to Sherry, “Aunt Sherry, you‘re a beautiful woman, so your baby is going to
be adorable.”
Sherry, who has been brooding the entire day, finally looked up at the girl. Isabel stared at her with her big googly
eyes and adorable lips. “If you can‘t afford to take care of the baby after you give birth, don‘t worry. My mommy
can take care of it.” Sylvia was rendered speechless by her daughter‘s words.
Sherry chuckled. She asked, “What if the baby isn‘t as beautiful as you?”
