Chapter 1476
John patted Caprice’s head and answered
expressionlessly, “Caprice missed her mother, and she insisted on coming last night. So, I stayed a night with her.”
Carl’s smile froze. “Sister Sherry snores when she sleeps. I wonder if she bothered you and Caprice last night.”
John narrowed his eyes but his smile remained. “She slept well last night. You don’t need to worry about that, Young
Master Sager.”
Carl choked on the answer he got and pursed his lips helplessly.
John smiled and continued, “But she slept rather late last night, and she’s still not awake. If you are not in a hurry, I
would suggest coming back later.”
Carl awkwardly smiled. “Great. I stay in this hotel as well, so I can see her every single day. I don’t need to rush
things.”
“I see… Well, I have something else to attend to. Please excuse me.‘ “”
“Take care, Master Stockton.”
John carried Caprice and walked forward. The moment he walked past Carl, his handsome face was shrouded in

Back in the quiet suite, Sherry finally opened her eyes an hour later.
The first thing she did was look beside her, but there was no one there. She was the only one on the spacious bed;
Caprice was nowhere to be found.
Sherry’s chest tightened. “Caprice?!”
She got up and wanted to search for her daughter, but then her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw a text from John. “I brought Caprice away.”
Together with the text was a picture of Caprice eating breakfast.
Sherry choked on her nervousness. She replied, “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?!”
“I did, but you slept like a pig.”
Sherry was left speechless.
“Caprice even said goodbye to you when we left.”
Sherry was deeply annoyed.
Anyway, it was a relief knowing that Caprice was fine, but should there be a second time, she would definitely lock
the door from the inside.
Her expression shifted as she replied, “Got it. Tell Caprice I said ‘Good Morning‘.” A quick thought later, she sent him
a cute and flattering sticker.
John chuckled when he saw the sticker. He put his phone away and continued to have breakfast with Caprice.
Caprice then looked at him. “Daddy, I’m done.”
John hummed a reply and wiped her mouth with a piece of tissue.
When he carried her, the girl looked outside blankly with her lips pursed, seeming rather disappointed.
John sharply noticed the girl’s reaction. He stopped and asked, “What’s wrong, Caprice?”
Caprice said with protruded lips, “I didn’t say goodbye to Mommy.”
John was slightly taken aback before he smiled at the girl. “I said goodbye to her on your behalf earlier.”
Her eyes lit up. “Thank you, Daddy.”
“You’re welcome.”
The father and daughter then went into the car.
The girl sat in his embrace for a while and then asked, Daddy, can I go see Mommy again later tonight?” Her
crystal–clear eyes were full of anticipation.
John went silent for a while. He smiled and said,

Caprice hummed a reply, obviously disappointed.
John hugged her tighter in his arms. He looked down at his daughter deeply and asked, “Caprice, do you like
Mommy?”
“I like Mommy.”
“Do you want to be with her every day?”
“Mm–hmm!” The girl nodded without the slightest hesitation.
John smiled. “Why is that?”
The mother and daughter barely knew each other.
“Because I like Mommy.”
John smiled. “Then, I’ll let you sleep with Mommy every night. How’s that sound?”
Caprice widened her eyes in excitement. “Yeah!”
John smiled with squinted eyes. Other than the kind smile, a strong scheme was brewing behind his golden- framed
glasses.
