Chapter 1513
What? Sherry did a double–take and looked sharply at John.
John made sure to avoid her gaze as he proceeded to take Caprice in his arms and walked out of the
room.
Sherry felt like she was going to hyperventilate from the sheer rage she felt
If Caprice was not here, she was going to send John to the gates of hell!
After breakfast, John took Caprice to the office.
Sherry had to work as well so they dropped her off at an office tower on the way to the Stockton Tower They rented
a unit in the office tower to serve as a temporary office for Sherry.
The main reason for her return to Glanchester was to reunite with Caprice, but aside from that, she was also
entrusted with the task of overseeing the collaboration between the Sager Corporation and Stockton Corporation.
Even though John was endlessly a thorn in her side when it came to Caprice, he did not let it get in the way of their
professional liaisons.
When Sherry arrived at their office, one of her employees was already in the middle of a meeting with a senior
executive of the Stockton Corporation.
She went to her desk.

video conference, she summoned the previous employee to her office where they conducted another brief
meeting.
The morning passed in the blink of an eye.
She finally had time to herself come lunchtime. She promptly sent a message to John. “Have you and Caprice had
lunch yet?”
John replied, “I’m eating right now.”
Sherry considered for a moment, then she went ahead and took a selfie of her eating and sent it to him, followed
by another message, “What are you guys eating? Show me.”
Shortly after that, she received a picture of the meal John was eating with Caprice. Two trays of food were laid out
against the table, one was an adult’s portion while the other was a children’s portion.
The only thing of note in the picture was the food. Caprice was nowhere to be seen.
Sherry scowled at this but made no further comment.
Forget it, she could see Caprice after she finished up her work around the evening. She was not in any
rush to see her.
After she finished eating, she turned her attention back to the computer and delved into her endless
tasks.
Meanwhile, inside the Stockton Tower which was only further down the street from Sherry’s office
Inside John’s office.
He was having lunch with Caprice at his dining desk.
The child was taking her time with her meal.
John was taking his time as well but he would glance at his phone periodically.
Why was the woman not replying to his message? Was she busy?
“Daddy, has Mommy eaten?” Caprice asked out of nowhere.
John was in an irritated mood and said crossly, “Eat.”
From the picture she sent him, it seemed like she was only eating regular takeout. Still, it did seem like she enjoyed
the food judging by her expression.
After a moment of silence, he asked, “Caprice, do you miss Mommy?”
Caprice nodded.
He said tenderly, “Take a nap after you eat. Daddy will take you to see Mommy after you wake up. Sounds like a
plan?”
Caprice smiled brightly. “Okay!”
Sherry’s office.
After she wrapped up all the important tasks at hand, it was already four p.m. in the afternoon.

Unexpectedly, she met a familiar figure stepping in as soon as she headed for the door.
It was Carl. He had a pair of sunglasses on and sported a bright red shirt that commanded attention. It was
impossible to not notice him leaning against the doorway.
Sherry was startled. “Carl, what brought you here?”
Carl took off his sunglasses and said with a wink, “I’ve had enough fun here and I’m going home. I figured I’d come
and say goodbye.”
Only then did Sherry notice that he was carrying a large backpack with him.
She smiled and bid him farewell. “Goodbye, have a safe trip home.”
It was a good thing that he was heading back home. Things were getting heated at Sager Corporation’s
headquarters without him around, so he could help ease some burden off Madam Sager with his return.
Carl seemed wounded by this. “Sherry, have you been waiting for me to leave this entire time?”
Sherry responded swiftly, “Yeah, that’s right.”
Carl frowned upon hearing this. “Geez, you’re so cruel.”
Sherry ignored him and prepared to walk past him.
Carl suddenly perked up and approached her. He put a hand out and said with a serious tone that was rather
uncharacteristic for him, “Come on, why don’t you give me one last hug? Think of it as a way to send me off in
peace.”
