Chapter 1836
Caprice felt sulky and frowned.
The car jerked to motion and drove out of the university as they headed toward Glanchester.
The drive would take at least three hours.
At first, Caprice was quite energetic after getting a full night’s rest. However, it was so quiet in the car that
sleepiness eventually set in.
Her head drooped as if her neck could no longer support the weight of her head. Soon, her body tilted to the side
until it hit a cushion. It was the perfect amount of softness that she quickly drifted to sleep after that.
When she woke up again, she realized that she had been leaning against Liam’s shoulders the entire time. It
seemed like at some point during her sleep, she had inched toward him and was almost sitting next to him.
Meanwhile, he sat upright and stoically, maintaining his usual coolness as he stared in front of him, All Caprice could
see was his handsome side profile and his chiseled jawline. As usual, there was not a mark of emotion on his

She was startled to find herself in this position and slowly dragged herself back to her side of the
car.
“I accidentally fell asleep,” she explained vainly so he would know that she did not lean against him on purpose.
Liam grumbled, “Alright.”
His voice was cold and ineffectual. He did not seem bothered at all. In fact, it looked like it hardly registered as a
worthwhile event.
That was right. He had always regarded her as his younger sister, so he would not feel flustered just because she
leaned against him while sleeping.
Caprice looked out the window and let her mind wander.
They had already arrived at Glanchester. She saw beautiful trees and flowers lining both sides of
the road. It turned into a scenic drive.
She had not been home for a full semester, and it just occurred to her that she had been missing home this entire
time.
She rested her chin on both hands and stared at the beautiful scenery outside.
She was not aware that the entire time, the man on the other side of the car had turned to stare at her. He bore his
depthless eyes into the back of Caprice’s head.
After another half an hour, the car stopped outside the gate of the compound.
Caprice was very grateful for Liam giving her a ride. “Liam, thank you for taking me home.”
Liam glanced at her and said, “You’re welcome.”
“Good luck with your work. You don’t need to walk me inside.” She threw the door open and got out promptly.
Liam jerked his lips to the side.
Caprice got out of the car and trotted past the gate.
Liam frowned and instructed the driver, “Let’s go.”
The driver drove out of the area, then asked cautiously, “President Carter, are you going back to Westchester?”
All he knew was that Liam had ordered to send Caprice to Glanchester. He was not aware if he had any plans in the

Liam seemed annoyed and grumbled, “We’re going home.”
“Yes, sir.”
Immediately as soon as she stepped through the gate, Caprice saw Madam Stockton coming toward her.
Madam Stockton must have heard word that Caprice was coming home. She had the staff take her to the main
entrance in a shuttle car and arrived just in time to see Caprice walking toward the house. She frantically asked the
driver to hit the brakes and stepped out of the car while waving excitedly the entire time.
“Caprice, let me take a good look at you, darling!”
Caprice rushed up to Madam Stockton and offered her hand. The old madam looked at her up and down, inspecting
every part of her. After getting a good look, she asked with a sharp frown,” Did you lose weight? Did you get bullied
at school?”
Caprice had to suppress her laughter. “No, Grandma, I haven’t been bullied, and I haven’t lost that much weight!”
This was how she always looked!
Even if she had lost weight, it was only expected since she left for Westchester during winter.
Madam Stockton gave her nose a firm, playful squeeze. “So, you have lost weight! Alright, I’m going to keep a close
eye on you during every meal.”
