Chapter 1847
Caprice hurriedly grabbed her purse and went up to Jonathan “Sorry for keeping you waiting Mr Jonathan, I’m ready
to leave now”
Jonathan glanced at her purse, then he turned and walked outside.
Caprice followed behind him
Is your bag a counterfeit?” he asked candidly as they got into the elevator.
Caprice nodded hesitantly.
He asked more questions, “Where did you buy it? It looks just like the real thing.”
Caprice made up a lie. “I don’t know, it was a gift from my friend.”
Jonathan nodded and left it at that.
Then they got into his car.
They drove toward the city center.
Caprice watched the illusory streetlights and wondered where they were going.
Where was he going to take her for dinner?
Before she could ask Jonathan where they were going, the car turned at a junction and stopped outside the gates

Elysian House was a very famous and high–end restaurant.
She had been here several times with Sylvia in the past.
Why was Jonathan bringing her somewhere so fancy for dinner?
Jonathan suddenly turned to her and cautioned her. “After we go inside, I want you to keep quiet. Don’t say anything
unless I tell you to, do you understand?”
Caprice frowned.
What did he mean by that?
Before she could figure out what was happening, they were already walking into the restaurant. John’s lips curled
into a practiced businessman–like smile. It was apparent that he had done this a thousand times.
Caprice quietly followed him.
After they went up the stairs, they found themselves in a private box on the second floor.
When they entered, they saw several middle–aged businessmen seated at a round table. That was when Caprice
caught a hint of why she was brought here.
Each one of them looked as wealthy as they were large and plump.
The moment Jonathan entered with Caprice, she could feel every pair of eyes in the room falling
upon her. It was as if they had brushed past Jonathan’s existence entirely.
She frowned.
She recalled stories her mother told her from when she was still a young girl trying to make it in the world of
business. Back then, she had to attend many business dinners and whatnot to keep up good relations with potential
clients.
It was an enjoyable occasion most of the time as she would just need to drink a couple of bottles of beer and
entertain her clients. However, there were certain notable episodes with pushy clients who tried to get too
comfortable with her.
Whenever she had to deal with such clients, she would put on an innocent act to brush aside their advances.
Sometimes, she would have to resort to the hard way to teach them not to mess with her.
Caprice did not expect to stumble into such a situation on her very first day of work.
“What are you doing standing there? Hurry up and greet them.” Jonathan lowered his voice and hissed sharply in
her ears.
Caprice made a strained expression.
Fine, she would just have to deal with it.
She mimicked Jonathan and greeted each of them one after the other.

Jonathan was a remarkable conversationalist as he entertained and drank with them.
Caprice ate silently.
Until at one point, one of the men who appeared to be President Michael whom Jonathan referred to that evening
turned to Caprice. He suddenly suggested. “Mr. Jonathan, it’s been fun but why don’t you get some rest? I’d like to
get to know Miss Caprice over here.”
“Sure.” Jonathan was very courteous. He turned to Caprice. “Come on, give President Michael a toast.”
Caprice refused. “I don’t drink.”
She had only just turned eighteen last year. Before that, her parents never allowed her even a sip of alcohol.
She had never been fond of drinking.
The moment she said this, the atmosphere around the room changed abruptly.
Jonathan was the first to notice the abrupt change of mood, he immediately resorted to threatening Caprice. “It’s
just a toast, it’s not going to hurt you. Do you want to keep your job or
not?”
Caprice did not relent. “Do whatever you want.”
Even if she were to drink, she would not drink with the perverted man who had been casting gross looks at her
since the moment she stepped into the box.
