Chapter 97 D98% 11:21 FD For the rest of the day, all I could think about had been was Jessica had told me. Her words rang in my head several times as | tried to decide what my course of action was to be.
Dante and | had history, there was no denying that regardless of how hard | tried or wanted to. Having said that, there was also a lot to consider. For one, | had been the one falling at his feet for years because | had becso blinded by my own love and infatuation for him but that had landedin the most darkest times of my life.
Sure, he says he realised his mistake and I truly, whole heartedly believe that, but | did that mean that I should let the past go entirely. | suppose | had to if | wanted to resolve things once and for all with Dante.
When it had cto my feelings for him, | knew where | stood. There had been a period of tafter the traumatizing incident of Pheobe’s death that | insisted to the point of wanting to convince myself that | didn’t feel any thing for Dante but after the night at the fundraiser where | saw his possessive side and just how being in his company had madefeel, | knew that the opposite was true.
1 did love Dante, still. | yearned for him desperately and so much so that | couldn’t think of being with another man and it was entirely the reason why | hadn't sought out any other male for my sexual desires or companionship beside Dante.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtOn ssubconscious level, | was waiting for him to close the gap and he did try to many times. Of course, now he had a whole distorted perception and idea of what it had been that | truly wanted. Heck, had it not been for Jessica | would have thought that Dante just didn’t want any thing to do withany more and not that it had been that deep.
| gave up trying to call him hours ago because it was a futile effort. Dante didn’t want to take my calls neither did he have any plan on returning them either. It didn’t help matters that the official company newsletter was only to be released this upcoming Monday where it would be announced that Scott was no longer on the board which means Dante wouldn't know about it until then and still stick to his delusions that | was occupied with Scott.
| knew he stopped by when | wasn’t hwhen | was not there during the day only because Hayley would narrate toin great detail about all they did together and he seemed to be in a good mood from her retelling of the day they shared but | doubted that Dante was going to be upright around Hayley. | mean | saw the man go from mad to completely the opposite when he saw his daughter first hand.
My phone buzzed and | immediately snat ched it from the desk to check if it had been Dante but it was just srandom mobile usage notification.
1/3 *B98% 11:2 Emergency calls only Chapter 97 Oh, this was rediculous.
FD | pushed the chair back in the cafe that | had been rotting away for the past hour or so. | grabbed my things and left the cafe with every intention of driving over to Dante’s house and having a conversation that he couldn't escape from.
With every mile that drovecloser to his house, | thought of many things ranging from how this could all possibly go which was really any side of the spectrum. It could either go smoother than | thought where we spoke as two mature adults wanting to find a resolution or it could go the opposite where we both ended up yelling at each other and getting no where whatsoever.
| scoffed thinking how the latter of the two possibilities seemed more likely to occur but | tried not to let that get toor deterany way.
The familiar shrubbery and tall trees neatly lining the side of the road indicated that | had been ensuring Dante's house and soon enough | was driving down the paved driveway and parking off in front of the architectural masterpiece that | once lived in.
| rang the door bell and waited for several minutes but | knew that he was hby his car parked right in front of mine just below the stairs that lead to the front door. After ringing the bell for what was probably the tenth time, | heard movement behind the door before it was oeon revealing a middle aged woman that | had met before. She wore a uniform and a courteous smile despite the look of question on her face.
“Hello there. Can | help you?” She asked without moving out of the door way.
“Hi, | am here to see Mr. Crawford.” | informed her straining my neck to see if I could catch a glimpse of him in the background somewhere.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“And who might you be?” | could tell that she was new to the household and just wanted to be clear before lettingin so | didn’t mind the questioning despite my impatience.
“I am Sophia. Sophia Miller.” | told her and she immediately stepped aside from the door way.
“Sure, cin.” She said moving out of the door way and allowingspace to enter the house. “I'm Martha.” She introduced herself.
“I'm guess you're new here.” | pointed out and she nodded.
“I'am. | only started a week ago as the new housekeeper.” She spoke eloquently and it was evident that she had 2/3 Emergency calls only Chapter 97 a lot of experience in this role.
*A98% J11:21 FD “Well, it is nice to meet you, Martha.” | said with a smile before looking around for Dante.
“Mr. Crawford is up in his study.” She toldsavingthe ha ssle of hunting him down in his large house.
| walked up the stairs taking them two at a tin my hastiness until | stood in front of the large hard wood door with my heart pounding against my chest.
