Chapter 221 Christian Learns About Nancy’s Divorce

After seeing Nancy off in the car, Christian turned and walked back.

As he reached the front door of his home, he noticed Luciana leaning against the gate, calmly looking at him.

“Was it Nicholas who picked her up?”

Although it was a question, Luciana’s tone was certain.

“Do you know him?”

“There are only two cars like that in the whole city. One is at the Sallow Residence, and the other one I gave you on

your birthday. You thought it was too flashy, so you usually keep it in the garage. If it weren’t for the dust gathering

on it, I wouldn’t have driven it out.”

Christian understood. “What are you trying to say?”

Luciana raised an eyebrow.

Unable to hide it any longer, she approached and grabbed his clothes directly. “Are you playing hide and seek with

“Well, keep it to yourself then and pretend you don’t know,” Christian said.

Luciana looked at him and responded in a cool tone, “That birthday party at the Sallows and the late- night request

for me to contact a gynecology professor was all for her, right?”

Christian looked up at the moonlit sky and remained silent.

“Now that her husband has come and they’re all lovey-dovey and sweet, you come back all crestfallen?”

“Lucie…” He got angry but suppressed his anger as he muttered, “I just want some peace.”

She suddenly punched him. “Christian, you are my brother. What are you hesitating about? So what if it’s the

Sallows? The Zayns have never been afraid of anyone, not even the Sallows. If you like her, go after her. How would

she know if you stay here alone and don’t say anything?”

“Lucie…” Christian looked at her again, and his gaze was filled with deep sadness. “They are husband and wife. Are

you encouraging me to break up their marriage?”

“They’re not. I found out that they got divorced a month ago. Since that girl is already single, you should have the

right to fair competition.”

“What?” He looked up at Luciana, disbelief coloring his eyes. “Lucie, say that again.”

Tears welled up in Christian’s eyes when he heard that.

Back at home, Nancy had just opened the door.

In the next moment, Nicholas dragged her into the foyer and pinned her against the wall, where they kissed

“Crafty man.” Nancy leaned against his chest while playfully poking him.

“Yes, I was.” Nicholas nodded and pinched her cheek. “My girlfriend is so lovely. If she were taken away by another

man, I’d have no tears to cry.”

“Anyway, you can’t be alone with other men in the future.” He became domineering again.

She reached out and pinched his cheek too. “Nicholas, even though your concern and jealousy make me feel

valued, I still hope you can trust me more. I’ve said it before-I’m just friends with Christian, and my concern for him

is purely platonic. Since I’ve decided to be with you, I will be responsible to everyone.”

“I don’t doubt you,” Nicholas said. “I just don’t trust him.”

Nancy was speechless upon hearing that.

The helpers at home had prepared a scrumptious meal, consisting of all the duo’s favorite dishes.

As soon as the food was served, it appeared and smelled incredible.

Nancy cast a glance at it and instantly felt her hunger grow.

Luckily, she hadn’t mentioned Bella’s invitation for her to stay for lunch, or a certain someone would become

jealous once more.

The two of them settled down at the dining table. Just then, Nicholas’ phone began to ring.

He glanced at it and promptly ended the call.

However, his phone started ringing again within a few seconds.

Nancy looked perplexed and inquired, “Why aren’t you answering it?”
