Chapter 198
The laptop screen displayed a video call request.
Just as Esther hesitated about whether to call for Anna, the latter entered the room and pushed the
door open. Sitting in front of the computer, Anna answered the video call. On the other end of the call,
two identical little girls appeared.
“Anna!”
“Anna!”
The little girls cheerfully greeted Anna, and she waved back, asking softly, “Sunshine, Twinkle, do you
miss me?”
In unison, the girls replied with a cute tone, “Yes! We miss you a lot!”

the doctor and behave.”
“Anna, I’m doing well now. Twinkle has some good news to tell you.”
In reality, Anna had already learned from Twinkle’s piano teacher that Twinkle would join him on a
world tour. However, when Sunshine mentioned it, Anna played along and asked, “What is it?”
Excitedly, Twinkle exclaimed, “Anna, I’m going to join the global tour with my teacher, and the first stop
is the city where you are now. We will see each other very soon!”
With a smile, Anna praised, “Twinkle, you’re amazing!”
“But…” Twinkle’s tone turned a bit down. “Sunshine can’t come with me.”
Anna reassured, “When Sunshine’s health improves, we’ll bring her here too.”
Sunshine approached the camera and said, “Anna, I’m already feeling better now!”
Anna’s expression turned serious. “No, you just had surgery. Your health is important.”
“O-Okay!!”
As Anna was on the video call with the children, Esther couldn’t help but be captivated by their cheerful
voices. Her gaze fell upon the adorable twin girls on the computer screen.
They were in a hospital, with one girl wearing a patient gown sitting next to another girl who held a
smartphone and video-chatted with Anna. Occasionally, when the camera zoomed in, Esther noticed
the birthmarks on their necks shaped like crescent moons.
Anna adjusted the position of the laptop, pointing the camera at Esther. “Sunshine, Twinkle, this is
Auntie Esther. She’s my first friend here!”
Esther was surprised to find herself shown on the screen. She turned to face the camera and waved at
the girls.

“Hello, Twinkle and Sunshine!”
“Hello, Auntie!”
“Nice to meet you, Auntie!”
Anna simply wanted to let the children know that she was doing well. Speaking softly, she said, “You
have to be good, eat well, and study hard.”
“Okay, we know!”
After Anna ended the video call with the children, Esther curiously asked, “Are they your daughters?”
“No.” Anna explained, “They’re a pair of twins I encountered in church. It’s said that a woman gave birth
to them but couldn’t raise them, so she abandoned them. Later, they were adopted by the nuns at the
church. I met them when I went to the church for charity work. I didn’t formally adopt them, but they’re
still my family.”
As Esther listened to Anna’s explanation, her heart suddenly twitched for some reason. A sharp pang
spread throughout her body.
