Chapter 380
“I’m all right, Jasper. I knew he would react like that,” Esther claimed.
Jasper could tell Esther was in a bad mood, so he tried to talk to her in a consoling tone. “You have to
pull yourself together in situations like this. You still have to save Pixie.”
Esther choked a little. “I know, but I don’t know what to do. That Twitter post he sent was obviously for
me. He wants me to go back and beg him.”
Jasper interjected, “You mustn’t do that. You’d be wasting too much time. Who knows what might
happen in that time?”
He sincerely wanted to help Esther, so he said in a gentle voice, “I suggest you wait for the DNA report
to come out first. Once that’s out, you could put in a formal request with the church to keep an eye on
Pixie’s safety and location as her biological mother.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEsther felt as though adrenaline had been injected into her heart, making it much easier for her to
breathe.
“The church has also informed me they’ll allow me to look at Pixie from afar after I’ve to them I’m her
mother,” she shared.

Jasper comforted her. “After you see Pixie and can confirm her address, she’ll be well within your
sights. It is the best scenario you could ask for at the moment.”
Jasper sighed. “Bradley is waiting for you to beg him,” he said. “If you do, he’ll use Pixie to control you.
Do you see what I’m saying?”
After a long pause, Esther murmured, “I understand.”
“Maybe I’m vilifying him too much.”
Jasper then changed the subject to Billy’s death. “I’ve looked into Mr. Anstey’s death like you asked.
Liliane was at his villa on the day he passed away. She had a short conversation with him, but the
caretakers were able to prove that she didn’t do anything to him. We’ll have to wait for the autopsy
results to know more.”
Esther asked, “Where is she now?”
“She’s at the hospital,” Jasper replied, a hint of scorn in his voice. “Mr. Anstey’s heart was found
compatible with Liliane’s after his death, so she received a heart transplant. He had signed up to
donate his organs, after all.”
Esther bit her lip. “Could Liliane have known that his heart was compatible with her since the
beginning?”
Jasper said, “I thought so too in the beginning, but the police investigated her and determined she
couldn’t have known before. Plus, Leah is an evil person who probably would have killed Mr. Anstey
sooner if she knew about this.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEsther thought, “He’s right. Leah is a cruel woman who even went as far as to work with Shane to
gouge my heart. Dad would’ve been long dead if she knew his heart was compatible with Liliane’s.’
She then asked, “When will the autopsy results be released?”
“Things aren’t looking good with the coroners either because most of Mr. Anstey’s organs have been
donated. The coroners are also finding it difficult to conduct their autopsy, but I have faith that the truth
will be revealed eventually.”
Esther snickered. “What if that day never comes? What if history repeats itself? I didn’t hurt Grandpa
Thomas in the past, but everyone was sure that it was me. No matter how hard I tried to explain
myself…”
Jasper said, “Esther, I will believe you forever. I trust that you didn’t hurt Grandpa Thomas. I’m sure
we’ll find out who it was that framed you someday.”
Jasper’s words warmed Esther’s heart.
“Will I really be able to see that day come?” she wondered aloud.
Overwhelmed with sadness, Esther asked, “Will all my pain really be washed away even if the truth
does get revealed?”
