Chapter 415
The doctor had never imagined being so grateful for the blaring alarm’s sound. The moment it went off,
he felt liberated.
Seeing the doctor hesitate, the man couldn’t control his emotions. He rushed forward, seized the
scalpel from the stunned doctor, and was about to make a harsh incision on Pixie.
Ignoring the gun in his hand, Esther charged forward like a lioness protecting her cub, knocking the
man off balance.
Terrified by Esther’s fearless charge, the man tackled her to the ground, still holding the scalpel and
aiming for her chest.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.
The man’s arm, holding, the scalpel, was struck, causing it to fly out of his grasp. Warm blood

“Take him away!” The police had finally arrived.
Anna rushed over and helped Esther up from the ground, her trembling hands wiping the blood from
Esther’s face with a handkerchief.
“Esther, are you okay?” she asked.
Esther nodded. “I’m fine.”
Anna thought with relief, ‘Oh, thank goodness. If the police hadn’t arrived in time, the consequences
would have been unthinkable.”
With Anna’s help, Esther walked over to Pixie. They had arrived just in the nick of time.
Pixie had only been anesthetized, and the surgery had not yet begun. The surgery would have already
started if they had been a few minutes later.
The police handcuffed the man and led him past Esther. He glared at her with intense hatred. Esther
felt his gaze and instinctively looked back at him.
Esther was startled by the man’s hateful gaze. Instinctively, she tightened her grip on Pixie’s hand and
defiantly said, “You may resort to despicable means for your daughter’s sake, but I will do everything in
my power for mine!”
The man gritted his teeth. “She’s not your daughter.”
“So what if she’s not my daughter? Does that give you the right to freely take her organs?” Esther’s
voice brimmed with anger. “She’s a living person. Just because you want your daughter to live, does it
justify disregarding the lives of others? What right do you have to deprive her of her right to live in this
world!?”
“What do you know? I’m only taking one of her kidneys! She still has one left. It won’t affect her life,”
the man retorted. “I’ll give her a life of luxury, let her live like a princess-

keep her by your side. You can take other organs from her whenever your daughter needs them to
keep her alive!”
The man sneered. “Do you know how much you’ve ruined my plans? I’m waiting for your retribution!”
His words took Esther aback.
Retribution? Why would she face retribution? The one who deserved retribution was the mant who
treated others’ lives as if they meant nothing.
As the one who had called the police, Esther had to give a statement. During their car ride, they
discussed that she should take full responsibility to avoid negative repercussions on the Sandersons.
She had to face the consequences alone.
The police helped Esther take Pixie to a public hospital.
Anna observed Esther by Pixie’s side and gently reminded, “Esther, do you want to take this
opportunity to do a DNA test with Pixie?”
