Chapter 441
Steffan’s dark blue eyes flickered with a hint of mockery. He subtly lifted his proud chin and replied in a
cold tone, “Certainly.”
“Good,” Xara responded, her voice hoarse. She then looked toward the bathroom door in the study.
“Shall we move to the bathroom?”
“We shall.”
Xara entered the bathroom first. She turned on the faucet and washed her hands meticulously. Her
mind flooded with memories of everything that had happened in that bathroom. She took a deep breath
and splashed cold water on her face to calm herself.
Then she called to Steffan, who was sitting on the sofa, “I’m ready. You can come in now.”

reached out to close the door behind him. Once the door was shut, she turned to Steffan and asked in
surprise, “You’re just going to stand there?”
“Or what!?” Steffan retorted.
Xara had no reply. She truly came across a real piece of work. ‘I’ll endure this,’ she thought.
Xara knelt before Steffan and began to unbuckle his belt. She felt embarrassed by her posture.
Steffan crossed his arms and looked down at her with a gloomy expression.
Xara looked up at him, her voice frustrated. “Steffan, give me a reaction.’
“Xara, don’t push your luck.”
“You’re the one who…”
Steffan snorted.
Their voices echoed in the bathroom.
Jacob noticed that Xara had not come out of the study. He walked to the door and gently knocked. “It’s
time for dinner.”
Xara blushed as Jacob’s voice reached her ears through the bathroom door. She shot Steffan a glance
but didn’t say anything. She turned on the faucet to wash her hands, then left the bathroom, leaving
Steffan behind.
Steffan watched her go, his teeth gnashed in frustration. He kicked the bathroom door in
anger.
Xara opened the door to the study. “Jacob, you guys can start eating. I want to change my clothes
first.”
Seeing that Xara was unharmed and not bullied, Jacob sighed with relief.

Xara clutched her sore wrist as she watched Jacob walk away. She had failed as a mother. Steffan
wasn’t willing to try in vitro fertilization. Did she have only one option left? To have
sex with Steffan again?
The thought filled her with dread. She didn’t want to be close to Steffan again. But for Jacob’s sake,
she would have to convince herself otherwise.
After a refreshing shower, Xara dressed in a new outfit from her collection of the latest designs by
major brands. Her closet overflowed with these luxuries, a common sight for the affluent Sanderson
family.
Without drawing attention from Steffan, Xara effortlessly selected an outfit and descended the stairs.
As she entered the dining room, she noticed Steffan already seated at the table, elegantly flipping
through a newspaper. He had also changed his attire.
Xara walked straight to the empty seat next to Jacob, but he reminded her coldly, “This is Sunshine’s
seat.”
Xara glanced around the room, realizing that the only available seat was between Esther and Steffan.
