Richard took the phone and was shocked to discover divorce papers there. His heart raced joyfully, and he couldn’t
believe it when he asked, “Have you really decided?”
“Sign it!” Selene said.
Richard quickly glanced through the divorce papers. He felt like he was giving in a bit, but he considered it
compensation for using Selene all these years.
Worried that Selene might regret her decision, he eagerly signed it. “Selene, if you ever need anything in the
future, you can still come to me!”
Selene responded with a cold snort and approached Oliver, whispering, “Oliver, let’s go!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe had divorce papers ready on her phone at all times. To be precise, she had considered divorce countless times
since falling out with Richard.
So why hadn’t she divorced him?
It was because she couldn’t accept it. She couldn’t accept that her choice had failed. She couldn’t accept being a
failure herself. Most of all, she couldn’t accept seeing everything she had worked so hard for handed over to
another woman.
She clung to her marriage, even if it was just to quietly gather evidence, updating the divorce papers again and
again.
At that moment, all her determination vanished.
Maybe she should have treated it as if she had never given birth to this child from the start.
“Selene.” Oliver changed the way he addressed her to match her wishes.
Selene gave Oliver a long look, took a pocket watch from her neck, and handed it to him.
Oliver looked at the pocket watch that Selene had cherished for years, a gift from her grandmother. No matter her
changing attire and accessories, this pocket watch had never left her side.
“It’s yours now.” Once Selene decided to divorce, it was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
She confidently walked away as if embracing a new life.
Oliver looked at the pocket watch in his hand, then back at Selene’s retreating figure. He couldn’t quite grasp her
intentions as he returned to Marcus’ side.
“What does Selene mean?” Oliver asked.
Marcus took the pocket watch from Oliver and pondered. “Let’s not dwell on it for now.”

Mandy continued with the wedding as mere spectators.
Since signing the divorce papers, Richard had become more comfortable and relaxed. With Selene gone, he
eagerly seated Liora beside him, implying she was his new partner.
In other words, Mrs. Pendleton could be anyone aside from Selene.
Chadwick glanced at the emcee and said icily, “Continue.”
The emcee followed the wedding program. “Parents, please take your seats.”
Chadwick observed as Richard led Liora to the designated seats.
