Kevin rose from the floor, seething with anger as he overheard Bradley threatening Felix, who was already battling
a psychological illness. He grabbed a water bottle from the table, unscrewed the cap, and drenched Bradley’s face
with its entire contents.
“Bradley, are you calmer now?”
Cold water dripped from Bradley’s face, his eyes gave off a frosty glint, and his tightly pressed lips betrayed his
anxiety.
“Looks like you’ve cooled off.”
Kevin couldn’t help but wonder what he had done in life to cross paths with Bradley.
“If you’re not familiar with psychological disorders, you can look them up. But this isn’t how you treat Felix. He’s just

Felix to his.
“Must you drive Felix to a point where he ends up like Esther? Would that satisfy you?”
Having said his piece, Kevin picked up Felix and walked away. Bradley’s current emotional state was clearly off, and
Kevin didn’t dare to leave Felix alone with him. Due to Bradley’s previous behavior in the ICU, he was also prohibited
from approaching the ICU.
Kevin said, “Felix, stay with your mom, okay?”
Felix nodded obediently.
A deep sense of sorrow washed over Kevin as he gazed at Felix’s innocence and wisdom.
Ultimately, it was all Bradley’s doing. Esther had nothing to do with it, yet he persisted in taking out his anger on
her, subjecting her to torment as if she could endure it all.
Kevin had witnessed couples locked in bitter divorce battles, fighting for custody. But he hadn’t imagined Bradley
failing to consider Felix’s capacity to cope.
“With you by your mother’s side, she’ll wake up soon,” Kevin assured.
Felix nodded.
Tears welled up in Kevin’s eyes—Bradley didn’t deserve such an endearing child.

Leaving the ICU, Kevin spotted Bradley sitting at the entrance. He took a deep breath and sat across from him.
“Felix is with Esther. Maybe their bond will help Esther wake up soon.”
Bradley’s expression remained icy, and he spoke in a low, menacing tone. “Why didn’t any of the other experts
stay?”

“All the experts left when they learned that Dr. Foster is personally caring for Esther. If she can’t save her, they
believe they can’t either.”
Bradley stayed silent.
Kevin implored. “Bradley, I’m begging you to spare Esther. Isn’t it possible? What happened five years ago wasn’t
her fault, and you know it. Why do you keep tormenting her like this?”
Bradley’s piercing gaze remained fixed on Kevin. “It’s none of your concern.”
Frustrated, Kevin tugged at his hair and muttered, “Fine, don’t come to me for help in the future. You’re insane! You
seem determined to push Esther to her limits. Go ahead, continue if it pleases you. If I ever get involved in your
affairs again, I must be out of my mind!”
Kevin left.
Bradley sat on the bench outside the ICU. Oliver’s bodyguards were stationed at the entrance, and he couldn’t
catch a glimpse of Esther.
