The Warner service staff were hard at work cleaning. Even though the search and rescue team had departed, the
real task for the service staff was just beginning.
Bradley navigated his way through the bustling workers and entered his bedroom, which was the first area to be
tidied up. The air carried a faint scent of disinfectant.
He locked the door behind him and proceeded smoothly into the hidden chamber. Esther lay motionless in the
crystal coffin, appearing lifeless and resigned.
“Esther,” Bradley said, resting his hand on the edge of the crystal coffin. His dark gaze lingered on Esther’s

“Do you know that your uncle, Oliver, came searching for you? He made quite a scene but left empty-handed.”
Bradley closely observed Esther, determined to notice any subtle changes in her expression.
However, Esther remained unresponsive, showing neither joy nor sorrow.
Bradley understood that she still had feelings but was unwilling to engage with him, even refusing to use the
passionate gaze she had once bestowed upon him.
“Xara has taken Felix out of the country.” Bradley sneered, adding, “Esther, from now on, your life is under my
control. If you wish to leave this place, you must cooperate.”
Upon hearing Bradley’s words, Esther suddenly burst into laughter as if she had heard the most amusing joke. She
laughed so hard that tears welled up in her eyes.
Cooperate with him? She had already lost her freedom. How else could she cooperate?
“What’s so funny?” Bradley asked coldly.
Esther wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes, looking pitiful, like a delicate flower bathed in morning dew.
“I’m laughing at your naivety, Mr. Warner. What you desire, I’ll never give to you again.
“No matter how many schemes or tactics you employ, I’ll never submit to you. I’ll never give my heart to you
again.”
Esther slowly turned around, one hand supporting her head as she peered through the crystal coffin at Bradley. Her
eyes were clear and tranquil, expressing a sense of ease.

She simply wished to die. If death could free her from him, she would willingly embrace it.
Regarding her missing daughters, she believed they were unfortunate to have an irresponsible mother like her and
a heartless father like Bradley. Perhaps living somewhere unknown, far away from them, was the freest way of
living. Even if she found them, for Bradley, it would only mean having additional leverage to threaten her.
“You want to die?” Bradley arrogantly continued from where Esther had left off. “Without my permission, not even
the Grim Reaper would dare to take your life!”
