To Oliver, Jasper, and Kevin, Bradley was simply a heartless monster. He lacked the emotions that a human should
have—love, companionship, and friendship.
Oliver took a deep breath and addressed Bradley firmly, “I should punch you to make you understand the pain
you’ve caused. But now, it’s unnecessary.
“Esther is gone, Felix can’t speak, and you…”
Oliver managed a bitter smile. “You’ll live on in atonement.”
Bradley abruptly rushed to Jasper, seized his collar, and demanded, “Jasper, I don’t believe Esther is dead! Give her
to me! Where have you hidden her?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtStanding by Esther’s coffin, Kevin gazed at her lifeless face and questioned Bradley, “Look at her face. You still
doubt it?
“You refused to accept Esther’s death before, but it’s too late now!
“The last time you took Esther to the hospital, I warned you that her time was limited, but you didn’t believe me.
“When you deceived and held Esther captive, did you ever think she might die?
“When you crashed into Esther’s car, did you consider the possibility of her death?
“When Esther’s car plunged off the cliff, did you think she’d survive?
“All of this unfolded right before your eyes, whether you acknowledge it or not. Esther has escaped your clutches
for good.
“She’s finally liberated from a fiend like you. She has found her freedom.”
Oliver turned to the funeral home staff and asked gently, “Can we proceed with the cremation now?”
“Now?” The staff asked, “Aren’t you planning a funeral?”
Oliver couldn’t bear to look and turned away, saying, “No funeral.”
“Then we can proceed with moving the deceased.”
“Very well.”
Oliver, Jasper, and Kevin stood silently behind the coffin, watching the staff push it away.
“No! Stop! Halt right there! She’s my wife! You can’t… You’re not allowed to do this without my consent…”
Bradley attempted to stop Oliver’s actions, but his efforts were in vain against the formidable team of bodyguards.
The coffin was moved toward the cremator.

The staff instructed Oliver, “Sir, just press this red button.”
Oliver took a deep breath and gently pressed the red button without applying force.
Instead, he turned to Bradley, who was struggling to break free from the bodyguards.
“Should we inform Felix?”
Kevin shook his head and said, “Considering Felix’s current state, if he learns about Esther, I fear his mental
stability…
“Mr. Quill, let Esther go. If we don’t release her now, given Bradley’s level of madness, he might attempt to take
her.”
Oliver pressed down gently.
