Gabriel nodded approvingly at Esther. “Well done. By the way, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”
“What is it?”
“Follow me.”
He led Esther into a conference room, contemplating how they used to believe protecting her involved sheltering
her, like a delicate flower shielded from life’s hardships.
Now, Gabriel was no longer shackled to such an approach. He hoped Esther could carve her own path.
“Esther, you’ve probably heard some details from Logan. Currently, there’s an opportunity. If you pass the

Without hesitation, Esther said, “Yes.”
“This path is very dangerous, and there’s a possibility you might sacrifice your life, just like your father did. Are you
still willing to do it?”
For some reason, as Gabriel heard Esther agree, he felt a twinge of relief but also a hint of reluctance deep within.
He knew that if Esther didn’t choose such a perilous profession, she could lead a very happy life relying solely on
the medical skills inherited from Agatha.
“Yes.” Esther took a deep breath, her gaze calm. “When is the assessment?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Grandpa Gabriel, rest assured, I’ll definitely pass the assessment…”
While Esther and Gabriel conversed, Logan knocked on the conference room door. Standing in the doorway, he
said, “Esther, I need them restored to normal.”
“Okay, I forgot…”
Esther got up and headed to the interrogation room with Logan.
Logan’s foreign colleagues only saw Esther walk up to those men. With a few taps and pinches of her delicate
hands, the men instantly transformed into people who could now speak, write, and move freely.
“Logan, what kind of trick did your partner use? Magic? It’s incredible!”
There was pride in Logan’s tone that he himself didn’t realize. “An ancient mystic art.”

that true?”
“Yeah, each of us is assigned a master at birth.”
Esther didn’t expose Logan’s nonsense. Instead, she returned to the conference room where Gabriel was.
Seeing Esther, Gabriel handed her a card. “Esther, this is a card I found at the scene of our car accident.”
Previously, Esther didn’t understand anything, and Gabriel couldn’t mention it. However, as Esther was about to
face danger head-on now, Gabriel couldn’t hide the fact about the card from her.
Esther picked up the card on the table, looking at the flower on the front and the text on the back, especially the
signature “X”. Her temple seemed to ache slightly as if she had heard or seen this “X” somewhere but couldn’t
recall it at the moment.
