Chapter 217
Billy was stunned by Liliane’s accusation of being petty. He couldn’t believe she would think that of him.
How could he be considered petty when he was willing to give away his entire fortune as Liliane’s
wedding gift?
‘Liliane, you’re my daughter. How can you side with outsiders?” he said, feeling a mix of sadness and
disappointment.
Liliane, unaware of her father’s true feelings, replied in a self-righteous tone, “Dad, do you have any
better suggestions? Should Mom face all the relatives and friends alone? Or should I walk down the
aisle alone? If people ask, should I tell them you couldn’t attend your own daughter’s wedding because
of diarrhea? Isn’t that embarrassing?
Billy felt a lump in his throat, and his injured leg seemed to ache even more. He tried to explain.

Unfortunately, the arrival of the ambulance interrupted him.
Realizing that arguing with her father on such an important day wasn’t ideal, Liliane softened her tone
and said softly, “Dad, if you’re feeling unwell, go to the hospital.”
As Billy heard the beeping sound on the other end of the line, a sense of loneliness filled his heart. He
was soon rushed to the emergency room due to an overdose of medication, leaving him with no time to
dwell on his sorrow.
Meanwhile, the phone call from Billy didn’t dampen Liliane’s mood as a bride. After hanging up. she
noticed an envelope on the side and opened it. Inside was an overseas bank card with a note that read

Liliane was puzzled Was Shane always so straightforward with his gifts?
“Mrs. Warner, are you ready? We’ll be entering the venue in ten minutes.” A voice interrupted her train
of thought.
Looking stunning in her makeup, Liliane nodded with a smile and replied softly, “I’m ready.
The bodyguards, disguised as bridesmaids, bent down to adjust the skirt of Liliane’s wedding dress,
creating a beautiful silhouette. Liliane took a deep breath, standing tall and elegant like a proud swan.
Leah hurriedly arrived with Shane, both showing affection and doting expressions toward
Liliane.
“Let’s go,” Liliane sweetly said.
Shane and Leah shared the same adoration as they prepared to accompany Liliane on her special day.
“Shane, put on this wireless earpiece. It’s provided by the wedding planning company. The person in
charge will give you instructions on when to walk and when to stop through the earpiece,” Leah
explained.

Shane put on the Bluetooth earpiece and stood by Liliane’s side.
“One moment!” Leah approached and adjusted the flower on Shane’s chest, whispering, “I’ll take
beautiful pictures of you and our daughter.”
“Okay,” Shane replied, touched by the moment. He never imagined he would have the opportunity to
give away his daughter on her wedding day. Though Liliane was unaware of her true identity, he had
silently protected and cared for her from a distance.
“Now, Mrs. Warner, you’ll hold Mr. Hoyer’s arm. Mr. Hoyer, please take smaller steps as you walk. Mrs.
Warner is wearing high heels, so be careful not to step on her dress,” the coordinator instructed.
Shane nodded, feeling a hint of nervousness. “I understand.”
“We’ll have to wait for a while. The ceremony is still in progress inside. Once the doors open, we’ll go
straight in.”
“Alright.”
