Zoe watched in shock as Helen fled in panic. Her pupils shrank as if she had suddenly remembered something,

Helen didn't even have tto pack her school bag, let alone ask for leave. She dashed out of the school gate,

hailed a cab, and headed straight home. Selena was surprised to see her back and asked curiously, "Helen, don't

you have classes this afternoon? Why are you back? I've already invited Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Anderson to come

over to play cards later."

Helen looked at Selena in a panic. "Mom! What should | do? The police are coming to arrest me!" "What are you

Selena forced a laugh. "No, isn't she supposed to be in class?"

"Mom, are you sure Helen hasn't chome? Where are you right now?" Xavier asked

Selena said, struggling to keep her voice steady.

"She's in big trouble this time. She could be sent to jail," Xavier said.
