After receiving his assurance, Fanny's tense expression relaxed slightly, and she leaned against him again, murmuring. However, she seemed disheartened, rambling on about something. Joseph gently patted her back, hoping to soothe her to sleep.

But as she continued to murmur, she suddenly asked sadly, “Joseph, do you know where Christopher is? He promised to cto the hospital, but he didn’t.” As she spoke, she burst into tears.

If she learned he had mentioned it to Christopher, she would no longer trust him, and more importantly, it would hurt her.

After calming Fanny down, Joseph left the room and contacted Christopher in the corridor. After the call went through, he first asked for a promise from Christopher.

“Fanny is extremely unstable at the moment. Christopher, emotionally, | mean. If you have time, you should cto see and comfort her.” “But, Joseph, | am not in Northland right now.” Christopher hesitated for a moment but decided to be honest.

He had not directly told Fanny that he was not in Northland because he did not want to upset her, but he did not mind telling Joseph as he needed somebody to understand his position right now.
