mask and made her way to the reception room.

Allison kept her expression pleasant as she answered, “It won't be much longer. He's just about to wrap up his
meeting.” Her tone was warm and professional as she took a seat across from them.
“Actually,” she added, “if there's anything specific you need, you can go over it withfirst. I'll make sure
everything is organized and ready for him.”

He pulled out a document and placed it on the table in front of her.
“This outlines my mother’s condition,” he explained. “Her episodes cause her unbearable pain, and we're hoping

Allison already knew about Lindy’s headaches, but she made a show of flipping through the document, her
expression thoughtful.
Colton studied her as she read, a strange sense of familiarity tugging at him.

Unbothered, Allison closed the file with calm precision and addressed the comment with a level tone. “I've
reviewed the document. It’s certainly a challenging case of headaches, but there are ways to ease the pain.”
She then shifted her gaze to Melany and added, “Here at our lab, we don’t make room for incompetence. If
you're struggling to understand, | can explain it to you.”
