Chapter 4: Claire’s POV

“Leo - “ | stop when | see Leo start to walk towards the door. | hurry and grab his arm.

“1 still have something to tell you.” Leo pulls his arm back and turns toannoyed and rubbing the back of his

neck as a symbol of him becoming aggravated.

“I need to go help Charlotte. We can talk about whatever this is once we're home.”

“Please don’t go” | ask in the smallest voice, but Leo turns the doorknob and leaves the room muttering the

cruelest of words.

“Don’t putin the position to choose” and without even a glance back at- he exited. | didn’t get the

chance to tell him about our baby. | stayed behind in the library for a few more minutes. The loneliness | felt

reached further than the depth of this room. | wasn’t welchere. I'm not wanted here. Even my husband

doesn’t wanthere. | should leave. So, | put every effort in calming myself before leaving the library. | then

anniversary and had no consideration for my feelings.

“I'm just leaving” | couldn't help but sound as small as Leo had madefeel. It was clear she called Leonardo

surface. She just waited for the perfect opportunity to expose them.
