Chapter 205: Trying to get Anya fired.

Annie stepped out of the room and called the marketing director of Houston Corporation. When the man heard

here request, he almost scoffed. Could he dare remove Miss Jones? The black family would be insulted. Besides,

she was not their staff but just part of a joint team. She worked for Shaw group and they were not to be trifled

with. He would never be stupid enough to jump into that trap.

"I cannot do that, Houston corporation has no right to remove a staff from Shaw group. You can talk to their team

leader to see what happens" the marketing director said and Annie frowned.

"I have already done that. He said he cannot remove her without permission from the company. Isn't there a way

to fix this? Jasmine really wants her gone." Annie said. When he heard her words, the Marketing director wanted

to scoff. Of course Jimmy could not remove her, unless he wanted to loose his job.

"Then you might need to contact black group or Jasmine can just manage till the shoot is over," the market

director said and ended the call. Annie was livid. Could it be this hard to remove a person in the corporate world?

In the entertainment industry, it would be as easy as a phone call.

When Annie returned, her expression grave, Jasmine rounded on her. "Well? What did they say?"

"I spoke with the marketing director, and... I'm afraid it's not good news, Jasmine," Annie admitted, wincing

slightly. "Anya Jones is part of the Shaw Group team, and they have no authority to remove her from this

project." Jasmine's eyes widened in disbelief. "The Shaw Group? You mean that billionaire Daniel Shaw? | thought

she worked for Houston."

Annie nodded. "Yes, exactly, | thought so too. They cannot fire a staff from another company. The director said

that if Anya is causing you any issues, we'll need to take it up with the Shaw Group directly or manage till the

shoot ends." "Manage!" Jasmine exclaimed, throwing her hands up in frustration. "I can't believe they're putting

that little staff member's needs above mine. I'm the one bringing in the big bucks here!"

"I know, Jasmine, | know," Annie soothed, placing a hand on the actress's arm. "But we can't just demand that

they remove her. We'll have to approach this carefully, maybe see if we can get her transferred to another team

or something." Jasmine's eyes narrowed, a calculating look crossing her features. "No, Annie. | won't settle for

that. If they won't remove her, then I'll make them."

Chapter 205. Trying to get Anya fired.

"Jasmine, what are you; " Annie began, but the actress cut her off with a raised hand.

"Call the marketing director back. Tell him that if Anya Jones isn't removed from this project, I'm walking away.

See how they like that," Jasmine said, her voice dripping with venom.

Annie hesitated, knowing that such a move could have serious consequences. "Jasmine, I'm not sure that's the

best approach. We need to be diplomatic about this, try to find a;

"I don't care, Annie!" Jasmine snapped. "I want Anya gone, and | want it done now. So call them and deliver my

ultimatum. | won't work with her, period."

Seeing the determination in Jasmine's eyes, Annie knew she had no choice but to comply. With a sigh, she called

around looking for the number of Shaw group's marketing director. When she got it, she dialed the marketing

director's number.

"Hello, this is Annie, Jasmine's manager. I'm afraid | have an urgent matter to discuss regarding Anya Jones and

Jasmine," she began, her tone tense.

Mrs Daniels felt a head ache the moment she heard Anya's name, but listened intently as Annie relayed

Jasmine's ultimatum. she let out a heavy sigh, shaking her head.

"I understand Jasmine's concerns, but I'm afraid we simply can't remove Anya from this project. She's a valuable

member of the team, and her work is essential to the success of this campaign," she explained, "This matter will

needs to be discussed first, before she can be removed."

Annie started to have a bad feeling at this point Annie felt something was wrong. She had asked around yet no

one could fire a staff? They did not even ask to deeply what she had done, they simply refused. Did she need to

call Dmien Shaw himself? She wondered. Annie grimaced. "I understand, Ma'am, but Jasmine is adamant. She

says she won't work with Anya, and she's threatening to walk away from the entire project if Anya isn't

removed."

The marketing director paused, considering the situation. "Well, that's certainly a problem. Jasmine is our star,

and we can't afford to lose her. However, when it comes to Miss Jones, | have no authority to remove her."

Annie was not stupid. Something was up with Anya. If her boss could not fire her, who could? She knew it was

tto back off, but she did not want to look as though she had lost.

Letting out a frustrated huff, Annie said, "Then what do you suggest we do? Jasmine is not going to back down

on this."

"I'll have to report this matter to the top," the marketing director replied. "In the meantime, I'd suggest trying to

find a compromise, perhaps have Jasmine stay away from her so that there is no friction."

Annie nodded reluctantly. "Understood. I'll relay that to Jasmine, but | can't promise she'll be satisfied with that."

"Do your best," the marketing director said, "This is a delicate situation, and we need to handle it with care, I'll

be in touch once I've relayed the matter."

As Annie ended the call, she turned to Jasmine, bracing herself for the actress's reaction." Jasmine, I've spoken

with the marketing director, and I'm afraid the news isn't good. They're not willing to remove Anya from the

project." Jasmine's face contorted with rage. "What? Why not? I'm the star here, and | refuse to work with that

backstabbing slut!"

"I know, Jasmine, | know," Annie soothed, raising a hand to try and calm the actress. "The director said that Anya

is a valuable member of the team, and he has no authority to remove her. He suggested we try to find a

compromise, maybe have you stay away from her." Jasmine scoffed, her arms crossed defiantly. "A compromise?

| don't want a compromise, Annie. | want Anya gone, and | want it done now. Call the Shaw Group and tell them

to remove her, or I'm walking away from this entire project."

Annie stood before Jasmine and explained again. "Jasmine, Listen toclearly. The marketing director of Shaw

group says she has no authority to fire Anya, a junior staff of the marketing team." she said slowly and Jasmine

finally paused. "You mean to say she is that powerful?" Jasmine asked.

"The Shaw Group is a powerful entity, and they've made it clear they won't remove Anya.

. Pushing them too hard could backfire and cost us this entire deal."

"I don't care!" Jasmine snapped. "lI won't work with Anya Jones, and that's final. So call them, Annie, and make it

happen. Or find someone else to representon this project."

Seeing the determination in Jasmine's eyes, Annie knew she had no choice but to comply. She rubbed her temple

then she pulled out her phone started dialing two other people in Shaw group that she knew.

One of her contact at first was very agreeable and had even said Anya should be removed from the crew. He

even promised that he will talk to Anya's boss. But when he asked and returned, his answer was so mechanical.

"lI understand your client's position, Ms. Tent, but I'm afraid we simply can't remove Anya from this project," they

would say. "She is a valuable member of the team, and her work is essential to the success of this campaign. We

have no grounds to ter minate her involvement."
