Chapter 269: Hazel injured

"What is it?" he asked, but there was already too much chaos on the other end for Hazel to recall she was on the

phone with someone.

"Hazel!" Jane screamed and rushed over to her side. Mr. Kenneth started throwing things and the police had to

step in and restrain him. The assistant head of human resources stepped in at that moment to take charge. The

middle aged woman hurriedly asked for the ambulance to be called as Lydia's feet was bleeding.

On the other end, Marcus with his phone to his ear, could hear commotion on the other end, he heard someone

say Hazel was bleeding and frowned unconsciously.

It did not take long for an ambulance to be called for Hazel.

Jane hopped onto the ambulance with Hazel. Jane knew Hazel did not have family. She knew that they were

alive, but she also knew what they did to her, so she was not going to let Hazel go alone.

In the hospital, Hazel was accompanied by the Vice head of Human resources, Mrs. Greyson and Jane to the

emergency room. The doctors worked quickly to attend to Hazel. Soon it was clear that she needed stitches.

Hazel was in pain as her eyes watered because of her aching wound. Her face was pale as sweat sat on her

forehead.

"How did she get injured?" a doctor asked.

"Ceramic was thrown at her feet," Jane explained.

"We will need to make sure there are no shards in her feet," he said and they rolled Hazel away. It did not take

long for them to finish with her. As Jane and Mrs. Greyson cto her side to hear what the doctor had to say,

she heard a familiar voice call to her in shock. "Hazel?" she looked in the direction of the voice to see her Ex-

fiancé, Mike, and almost let out a curse. How could she have known that they would send her to the hospital he

worked at? Her Irritation grew as she wondered if the universe was against her. "Why are you here? Did you get

injured?" he asked stepping forward, only for Jane to block his path.

"I don't care if you are a doctor here, you better learn your place. Are you trying to anger the patient why they

are being treated?" Jane said coldly and the other doctors who recognized Mike looked his way with raised brows

and he stepped back. This was his place of work, he could not make a mistake.

Suddenly, an army of men dressed in black suits covered the place.

Hazel recognized wolf and sighed.

Wolf hurried to her side, "Sorry for being Late, Madam," he said and the room stilled.

Hazel could feel eyes on her and she could already guess what they were thinking, but she was too out of it to

bother.

The doctor treating Hazel looked around the group and asked, "Who is the patient's family?"

"lI am," Marcus answered as he walked over with his assistant and head secretary and Jane and Mrs. Greyson felt

their eyes almost fall from their sockets at the sight of the person who had spoken.

Hazel was in no state of mind to deal with any of this. She barely registered that the commotion in general as

Marcus stepped forward towards them.

Marcus walked past them to Hazel. His expression looked like a storm was about to descend.

The assistant head of HR who had cwith Jane to help handle matters was taken aback.

At this moment, Assistant director of H, Jane and Mike had already concocted in their heads what he meant by

family member.

Who was this man?

There were those who wondered if she was secretly from a dangerous family.

Hazel could not deal with the silence. Even the doctor was quite taken aback by the group of men.

"Why are you here?" Hazel cut him off before he could open his mouth. She feared he would say something to

make the misunderstanding worse.

When the doctor recovered and saw that the patient's family had arrived, he handed a note to Marcus.

"I have removed all of the shards. Her wound must not touch water for a while. Make payments at the counter

and | will cto see her after a while," he said and walked away, too busy to care about what had taken place.

"Move her to a better room," Marcus said, handed the paper to his assistant.

"It is just a scratched | will be discharged soon," Hazel opposed. She turned to the assistant about to walk away,

"lI am fine right here,"

"Change the room," Marcus ignored her and ordered again and wolf complied and hurried away to handle the

procedures.

"I said, | am fine. And | don't need to be here, | can be discharged immediately.

"Baby, don't test me!" Marcus scolded her. Those words cleared up the confusion instantly. Jane's eyes almost

popped. But before she could say anything, Mike stepped forward.

"Does Dad know you are injured. Should | pass this to them?" he asked. He did not like the fact that Hazel was

ignoring his existence.

Worse of all, this man before him seemed to be the one she was referring to as her husband that night. It had

taken him along tto accept the fact that she was married, but all his acceptance cracked by the foundation

when he was in her husband's presence. He wanted to make sure it was known that he knew her family,

compared to him who had not met them yet.

"What? Since she did not succeed

this time, she wished to kill Hazel? You flee bag, don't test my patience. | do not mind breaking your legs here,"

Jané countered him instantly. He immediately recalled this was a friend of Hazel's. They had heard about her

when they finally found where Hazel was and done sresearch on those around her.

"Please be careful with your words, this is a hospital," he warned her darkly.

"Your fiancé spread rumor about Hazel in the company, trying to get her in trouble, now the head of HR has

smashed her feet with a vase you dare stand here and act like a human being?" Jane scolded him, attracting the

attention of those around, doctors and patients alike.

"Do not accuse her without evidence," he said heatedly.

"Evidence? Is it because she is in jail so you think she cannot do anything? She managed to run a sex trafficking

ring and got caught because she tried to sell Hazel to the highest bidder and you are shocked she could do this?

Who else but her? Since you are so holy, make sure that disgusting family of yours or your fiancé's don't show up

here to disturb Hazel, | don't mind really putting that old woman in the hospital," Jane said. The staff

around were basically frozen in shock. The little Jane had said had already sparked curious people, both nurses

moving around and the two doctor who were about to leave.

"Are you going to let your friend threaten to harm your grandmother this way, Hazel?" Mike asked.

"You are a doctor here, are you not?" Marcus asked. He had already figured out who this was from the

conversation.

"Yes," Mike answered. When Marcus's eyes descended on him, he felt he urge to stand straighter.

"You do not know you should not be bothering a patient at this time?" Marcus asked and Mike noticed that most

of his colleagues were watching. This made him uncomfortable. How could he have forgotten that this is his

place of work? "I am sorry. | will cand visit you later, Hazel," he said and started to leave.

His words irritated her so much she felt like pinching him. Marcus could tell that he intended to tell her family but

was not sure he knew who he was.
