Dorothy was spacing out for a second so she accidentally pressed a bit too hard.
People applied medicine to heal wounds, but when she did it, she somehow made Everett's almost-healed wound bleed again! "You, you're bleeding! I'll go get the doctor!" Dorothy was about to dash off, but Everett grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
"I'm fine." He said.

Everett gave a helpless smile; he just couldn't handle her sometimes.
"It's just a small wound, no biggie." "But..." "You didn’t have dinner, right? I'll ask room service to send something up." He interrupted her gently, then followed with a slightly awkward cough, "Go take a shower first." Dorothy suddenly realized that given their positions, any movement could easily cause a stir; of all places, she was pressed up against his lower body.
He couldn't hide his bulge much longer...
"Okay! I'l....I'l go take a shower!" She couldn't think about anything else so she even forgot to grab a change of clothes. And she bolted into the bathroom just like that! Watching Dorothy's retreating figure, Everett's lips curved into a small smirk.
She really was something else.
Dorothy, in opposition to Everett, wished she could shrink and escape through the drain in the bathroom! That didn’t go as she planned. Now she was taking a shower after him. Why? Shouldn't they be sitting down to discuss the dissolution of their contract and when they'd head to get their divorce certificate? Everett and Heather had already reached the point of buying each other underwear on this business trip. She wouldn't buy it if he later told her they weren't back together.
Dorothy paced around the bathroom a few times before Everett's voice came from outside.

"You didn't shower?" "| think we need to have a serious talk, Mr. Lopez. What do you say?" Everett nodded with a calm look, "Sure, let's talk while we eat." He walked over to the dining table and even thoughtfully pulled out the chair for her.
Dorothy took a deep breath, "I think you should reconsider our contract!" Everett paused in cutting his steak. He raised an eyebrow, "Now that the surgery is over and you don't need me anymore, huh?" "No, no, that's not what | meant!" "Ms. Sanchez, there's something you should be clear about. We signed the contract written in black and white, so you should honor it." If she wanted to be formal about it, he could play along.
"Of course, if you're adamant about breaking the contract, I'll have my lawyer contact you tomorrow to discuss the penalty.” Penalty? Dorothy was stunned, "Aren't you the one who wants to break the contract?" Why would she have to pay a penalty? She hadn't even asked him for anything yet! "Did | say that?" "No.
But Everett was already back together with Heather. Was he still planning to keep her, the substitute, around?! "So, anything else you want to discuss?" Everett pushed the cut steak in front of her.
Lifting his eyes to look at her.
"No.
"Then have some food and get some rest early. I'm tired today.”
