"Alright, alright, you've got a point." Karen sighed in resignation. "I honestly thought you'd regret it when you first broke up, especially when you were about to go into labor. | really thought you'd reach out to him." If she were in that position, she believed she would want to connect with the most important person in her life at such a crucial moment.
When Dorothy was in labor, she had many complications. She was bleeding heavily, and the doctor handed her the critical condition form to sign. Karen was outside the delivery room, bawling her eyes out.
That was probably the hardest thing Karen had ever had to sign in her life.

"And what about ‘him? You can't leave him overseas forever." Recognizing the "him" Karen referred to, Dorothy's face began to flicker with worry. Her eyebrows tightened, and she let out a soft sigh.
"Karen, I'm doing this for..." "I know why you're doing it." Karen interjected. "But this isn't a long-term solution." "Hmm." Dorothy nodded.
No one understood the pros and cons more than her, and no one felt the pain of missing him more than she did.
After leaving him overseas, she was the one who was always worried and anxious.
Karen walked over to her and gave her shoulder a pat. "Bring him back. There are other ways to keep him safe. He doesn't have to be overseas." After seeing Dorothy's increasingly gaunt figure, Karen knew she was struggling too.
"I'll consider it. Also, since you and Abigail are here, why don't you stay for a few days? The best hotel in Everglow City is the Dreamscape Hotel. | can get you another room there. | haven't heard anything from the Lopez Corporation about coming to Everglow City, so it should be fine." Dorothy held her daughter tightly. She was reluctant to let go; her motherly instincts were kicking in.
They were already here, so a few more days wouldn't hurt.

Dorothy nodded and looked at Karen with sympathy in her eyes. "You've really worked hard these past years." Karen winked at her. "This was my choice. Many people get jealous when they find out that Abigail is my goddaughter.” Dorothy was helpless, yet also envious of Karen's lifestyle and mindset. If only she could be more open-minded, maybe she wouldn't be so tired.
There were no direct flights from Elysian Country to Everglow City, so Everett had to first fly to Eldorria City and then catch a connecting flight to Everglow City Airport.
Although Everett's trip was supposed to be confidential without any entourage, Kevin had arranged for his pick-up, accommodation, and dining.
Upon landing, Everett was greeted by the pickup driver. Once he got in the car, he leaned back and closed his eyes for a quick nap. His eyebrows were slightly knitted together, and his long eyelashes cast a deep shadow on his lower eyelids. He'd removed his suit jacket and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, which was his version of relaxing.
After a full day of flying, he finally touched down.
The driver glanced at Everett through the rear-view mirror and cautiously asked, "Mr. Lopez, shall we head straight to the Dreamscape Hotel, or...?" "Go to the hotel."
