"Sure thing, Mr. Lopez." The driver headed straight for the Dreamscape Hotel.
Only after the vehicle came to a halt did Everett slowly open his eyes and exit the car.
He cast a glance at the hotel in front of him. The scenery was pretty decent, but the building's modest footprint made it clear that this was no luxury establishment.
"Mr. Lopez, would you like me to help you with your luggage?" The driver asked, eyeing the suitcase, which didn’t seem to be carrying more than a few clothing items.

Suddenly, a little girl at the hotel door yelled out, “Mommy!” Usually, Everett was indifferent towards children. He neither disliked nor was particularly fond of them.
But today, that childish voice seemed to captivate him.
He looked in the direction of the voice, spotting a two or three-year-old girl with a tiny ponytail bobbing along with her movements, which only added to her cuteness.
The girl had her back to him, and Everett could only make out her chubby cheek. They looked as round and plump as a mini burger.
He glanced around but saw no accompanying adults. He had no idea who she was calling out to.
His steps faltered for a moment, but exhaustion ultimately won. Clasping his suitcase, he walked straight into the hotel.
Outside, Abigail was pouting. She was impatiently waiting for her tardy mom.
"Mommy! Aunt Karen! Please hurry up!" Soon, Karen came rushing over. She picked up Abigail and planted an affectionate kiss on her cheek. "Shhh! Don't rush your mommy. She's dealing with some work issues over the phone. Aunt Karen will take you out for a treat. Can we wait for a bit?" "OK!" Abigail obediently nodded and wrapped her chubby arms around Karen's neck. "Aunt Karen, | just saw a really tall man!" "Did you? Abigail, do you want to grow up tall too?" "Yes!" Abigail nodded vigorously as her eyes drifted towards where Everett had disappeared. "That man was so tall!" Karen followed her gaze, but no one was in sight.
She assumed Abigail was just intrigued by a tall stranger and didn't give it another thought.

Then, we can head to the night market." "Yay! | want to buy a lollipop." "You can only have one, and we need to finish it before your mommy finds out.” Abigail's puppy-dog eyes were Karen's weakness. She could hardly ever say no to the little girl's requests.
Everett took the elevator to the executive suite that Kevin had booked for him.
While it was no luxury hotel, the place was clean and tidy. Everett knew this was likely due to Kevin's meticulous instructions.
After so many years by his side, Everett was well aware of Kevin's attention to detail, rivaling that of a personal assistant.
After a shower, Everett noticed a missed call from Kevin on his phone.
He returned the call, simultaneously using the remote to open the curtains to the floor-to-ceiling window.
"Mr. Lopez, how are you finding the accommodation? Do you need me to get in touch with the hotel manager to improve any facilities?" "No. | primarily came to Everglow City for some peace and quiet." He didn’t want to draw attention and risk being disturbed.
"Understood." "Any recommendations while I'm here?" Everett poured himself a glass of red wine and took a sip. "Food or sightseeing spots?" "Mr. Lopez, Everglow City has a night market."
