She needed to start considering a move overseas after she finished this project with the company. While there were higher salaries available here due to the demand for talent, she needed to make sacrifices for her children.
Dorothy swung open the French doors to let in some fresh air.
Remembering that her daughter was still asleep, she quickly closed them and slipped on her flats to head downstairs to the hotel lobby.
Everglow City was surrounded by mountains, so the night breeze brought with it a scent of trees and grass, that made you feel a refreshing coolness. A gust of wind seemed enough to clear one's mind.

Dorothy paused. "What package?" "A gentleman left it here for your daughter.” The receptionist quickly retrieved a bag of candy.
If it hadn't been mentioned, Dorothy would have forgotten.
She glanced into the bag to see an assortment of candies.
With a resigned smile, Dorothy sighed deeply.
This must be the result of her daughter begging for candy again, and some kind soul indulged her. This was not the first time such an incident had occurred. Abigail had charmed many people with her cute looks before, coaxing them into buying her candy. Over time, Abigail had learned the art of acting cute to get candy.
It seemed being cute could have a detrimental effect on her teeth.
Dorothy smiled at the receptionist. "Please thank him for me. If | bump into him, I'll have my daughter thank him in person.” "He's checking out tomorrow." The receptionist's face fell as she mentioned this. "I just found out that he canceled his extended stay." "Then please give him this." Dorothy handed over a business card with her name and contact number on it. "I noticed he bought a lot of different and rather expensive candy. If he contacts me, I'd like to reimburse him." "He probably won't accept it. He's staying in our most luxurious room. He even booked it for a month. That's nearly 20,000 dollars in hotel fees!" "Oh? It seems Everglow City has attracted some high-profile visitors. But it is indeed a prime location." The scenery was beautiful, and the climate was ideal. Dorothy truly believed investing here was a good move.
The receptionist chuckled as she pocketed Dorothy's business card. "Hopefully, when more people come, we'll see more guests like him." Dorothy laughed.
It seemed this gentleman had not only charmed her daughter but also the hotel receptionist. He must be quite attractive.
The following morning, Dorothy was promptly woken up by a call from Austin.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe rushed to drive to the construction site, where she found Austin in a heated argument with a group of people.
Dorothy quickly approached the scene, immediately spotting a familiar face: George.
But this time, he wasn't alone. He was accompanied by over a dozen men and women.
"You're tricking the common people! You're cheating us out of our homes!" "We followed the agreement to the letter, and every cent was paid. How did | cheat you?" Austin, not very skilled at verbal sparring, was losing ground.
Dorothy had an idea of why these people were here. As she moved towards the crowd, she dialed 911 on her phone.
She intentionally spoke out loud. "Hello, I'd like to report a disturbance! | have people causing a ruckus here."
