Meanwhile, at the Eldorria City Airport.
An international flight had just landed.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtA woman, dragging her suitcase, emerged from the terminal. She stood at the entrance of the airport, removing the oversized sunglasses from her face.
After looking up at the blue sky and white clouds, her lips curled into a slight smile.
"Eldorria City, I'm back!" It had been years since Heather last set foot on this ground. She had given Everett space to heal from his heartbreak with Dorothy. She avoided upsetting him and stayed out of his sight as much as possible, only to find out he was getting married.
And she was not the bride-to-be.
How could that be? If she could separate Everett and Dorothy four years ago, then she could defeat any woman trying to steal Everett from her now.
Heather refused to believe that all the effort she put into Everett would not win him over.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAfter a moment's pause at the entrance, she pulled out her phone and dialed Jeffrey's number. "I'm back.” "Back where? Home?" "Eldorria City." Heather laughed. "Everett didn't even tell me about his wedding. That's not cool. | have to rush back to see his bride." There was silence from Jeffrey on the other end of the line before he finally spoke, "Stop beating around the bush; you're here to steal him back, aren't you?" Heather didn't feel embarrassed after being called out.
She hailed a cab outside the airport and slid into the backseat. "Shouldn't | come? If his fiancée isn't accepted by the Lopez family or by his parents, then the marriage is invalid." "Can't you see? Everett doesn't like you. You should just give up." "Would you give up a project you've spent your whole life planning?" Heather's tone was heavy; she then followed it up with a cold laugh. "Of course, | don't expect you to understand. Just tell me who the new woman in Everett's life is. What's her name? I'll find out the rest myself." "I'm not in Eldorria City, and | don't know. He's kept this one very hidden, so | can't help you." Heather's eyebrows furrowed, and her posture straightened. "I don't believe you don't know!" "Believe it or not, that's your problem. Why don't you ask Everett? You guys never consulted me when you were scheming against Dorothy. I'm worried that if Everett knew the truth... | can't even imagine the consequences. | won't get involved now." Understanding his meaning, Heather let out a sigh of mocking resignation. "What are you afraid of? Even if he knew, it was his parents who did it. What does it have to do with you? | won't tell him anything. You and him are good buddies, which gives you more reason to understand that him marrying me is the best choice for the Lopez Corporation! | can sacrifice everything for him.
No one loves him more than | do!" "That's only if Everett himself is willing." "Never mind. It doesn't matter if you don't help me. Anyway, I'm already here." Heather's lips twisted into a smirk. "He was so in love with Dorothy back then and was ready to give up everything for her, but they still broke up. You can hide from me, but I'll find out in the end. This is me giving you a chance to pick sides." Jeffrey laughed oddly from the other end. "Then you go ahead and find out. Take your time." His response aroused suspicion in Heather. If he was saying this, it meant things were not as simple as they seemed.
"It can't be... Dorothy is back, is she?"
