Jeffrey had assumed her pain was real, and so he'd prioritized driving her to the hospital over answering his ringing phone.
Upon arrival, he'd shouldered Heather into the cardiology ward.
After all the hustle and bustle, he was drenched in sweat and only remembered his ignored calls when he finally took a seat to rest. He pulled out his phone to see several missed calls from his assistant, followed by a call from Everett.

[I'm on board and heading back to Eldorria City. Get back to me when you see this] Just as Jeffrey was about to reply to the message, his assistant called him again.
He wondered if there was a problem with the kid.
“Hello? What's up?” “Mr. Turner, you asked me to come to the hotel to look after the kid. I'm here, but... there's no kid in this room!” Jeffrey shot up from his chair.
“What did you say?!” “There’s no kid in this room. | tried calling you, but you didn’t pick up. | asked the front desk, and they said... they said a man came and took the kid!” Jeffrey felt a pit in his stomach.
Had he lost Everett's son? “Quick, go look for him! Have them check the surveillance video and find out where that man took him! You must find him!” “l understand, Mr. Turner.” After hanging up the phone, Jeffrey's hands were shaking.
If he were to tell Everett now that the kid was lost...
He didn’t even dare think about the consequences.

He moistened his dry lips and entered the room. “Doctor, how is she?” “She’s fine; I've done some tests, and everything is normal. Her issues are probably due to a lack of sleep lately, causing an irregular heartbeat.” “Thank you, doctor.” All Jeffrey could think about now was the missing child; he had no interest in Heather's condition.
After helping her into the car, Jeffrey said, “I'll drop you off at the office, then | have to go.” Heather looked at him. “What's the matter? Can't you drop me home?” “The kid who looks like Everett is missing! | have to go look for him!” “What?” Heather was stunned. “What happened? How could you lose a kid?! Come on, take me with you; I'll help you look!” Jeffrey glanced at her. “You'll help?” “Yes!” Heather looked determined. “Even though | can’t accept the fact that Everett has a kid, he’s still just a child! If something happened, | would be upset too! Jeffrey, do | seem that heartless to you?” Jeffrey didn’t waste any more time and drove straight to the hotel.
The assistant had already pulled up all the available surveillance video footage and was going through it.
“Mr. Turner.” “Any news?” The assistant shook his head. “No, and it seems like the person who took him was prepared. The cameras didn’t catch a clear shot of his face.” Jeffrey was fuming.
Heather patted his shoulder, trying to comfort him. “Hey, why are you so upset?! It's clear that someone's been looking after the kid. He snuck out, and now someone's come to collect him. Isn't that normal?” Jeffrey furrowed his brows. “Everett hasn't even met him yet! And right now, we can’t be sure who took him.”
