Chapter 1061

Isaac smiled at Irene but did not answer.

Irene put down her fork right then. "Fine. You're not going outside today."

Although her marriage with Isaac was going steady, there were times she had to play along too.

She stared at the man before her, who was in the prime of his life and brimming with vigor. And there certainly was

no shortage of attractive ladies in this country, not to mention her own mother’s tumultuous marriage...

She got up from the table and walked around to him, sitting on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck as

she purred, 'Stay home today with me."

"I'm just teasing you," Isaac replied, putting an arm around her waist. 'I won't have time even if you asked-but I'll

get home soon."

Irene looked him straight in the eye. "Is it really work or are you seeing a pretty face?"

Isaac smiled as he pinched her cheek. "You're really lacking confidence, huh?"

That was not the case, but a man's ego should be stroked-if she was unmoved, he would definitely think that she

did not care about him at all.

And that was exactly what she was doing here.

"Yeah. Then come back soon-l still have something to discuss with you," she said.

"Just tell me now," Isaac told her.

However, Irene was hesitant-she just came back, so she would definitely upset him if she told him that she still had

to return to Minerva.

"It's about Lulu. She-"

She barely began when Isaac got to his feet, cutting her short and clearly reluctant to listen. "Just remembered-l

have a meeting."

Irene caught his wrist nonetheless-she already started, so she might as well finish it.

"She's seriously hurt, so I can't abandon her. You can understand, right?" she asked, leaning against his chest to

cajole him.

Isaac lowered his gaze in turn and asked, "Are you really leaving as soon as you're back?"

Irene quickly shook her head. "No-I will only leave in another few days. She has no one except me with her while

she's having surgery. Also, don't tell Zachary about her."

"Yeah," Isaac replied quietly.

He actually had no intention to stop Irene, but she had been gone for a while.

Irene gave him a peck on the cheek right then. "You're the best."

Isaac was left speechless-because he agreed to let her leave?!

He suddenly felt cheap being nice!

Still, he did have work to do and left after breakfast.

Irene did not follow since she could not help him at work at all... unless someone got sick.

However, that also meant she was alone, since everyone else left so that she could spend time alone with Isaac.

She decided to head out to check on Baby's lesson-she took a cab since every other car was taken.

It was not easy to get one around, so she strolled along toward an oak tree while admiring the scenery.

The vegetation there was beautiful, and it was relaxing with the gentle breeze brushing her cheeks.

She was strolling slowly, while studying the curious architecture of some of the nearby buildings.

Still, she turned without realizing it and noticed a silhouette quickly moving to hide.

She frowned-was she seeing things or was someone following her?

She kept strolling forward leisurely to prove her guess and soon heard footsteps a little far from herself.

The oak tree was shedding leaves and footsteps could easily be heard.

As such, she pretended to be strolling along casually and waited to turn abruptly, giving her stalker no time to hide!
