Chapter 121 The Perfect Excuse

The room was silent, and Charlotte immediately regretted what she had just said.
She thought to herself, “How could | forget that | have amnesia?”
When she heard that Julius had gone to the hospital due to an allergy, she immediately panicked and
instinctively said it out loud.
Just as she was at a loss for what to do, Arthur grabbed her chin and tilted her face up. His cold eyes locked onto
hers. “Your memory’s back?”
Charlotte blinked and quickly cup with an excuse. “It’s because I'm allergic to strawberries, too. He's my
son, so he might have inherited it from me.”
She had found the perfect excuse!
Arthur stared at her for a few seconds before releasing her. “I'm not sure yet. Let's go check on him.”
Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief, quickly adjusting her clothes before heading to the bathroom to wash her
face. She made sure there were no signs of distress before heading out.
*As she went downstairs, she glanced at his tall, slender figure
and felt a little more at ease.

However, she couldn't deny that she still cared about Julius.
Julius had the sstrawberry allergy as her. He had once eaten sand ended up covered in red rashes,
struggling to breathe. It had been a terrifying experience. He nearly died, and she had been scared out of her
wits!
Julius had cried, writhing in pain, looking at her with tearful eyes, “Mom, | feel so bad...”
At that moment, she would have gladly taken the pain for him.
Since then, she had been extra cautious with his food, making sure he never cinto contact with any
allergens.
Even now, the painful memory still lingered clearly in her heart.
Charlotte's emotions were complex.
She couldn’t remain completely indifferent.
Julius was her son, her flesh and blood.
With these tangled feelings, she arrived at the hospital, where Jennifer was anxiously pacing by the emergency
room, Robert beside her, trying to comfort her.
“Mom, how is he?” Arthur asked as he strode over.
Jennifer replied, “They're still trying to save him. It's all my
fault. | didn’t keep an eye on Julius. He said he wanted to sleep
alone, and I didn’t follow him. | didn’t expect this to happen. If it

Robert checking on him, who knows what could have happened...”
The usually proud Jennifer was now full of anxiety, her eyes filled with self-blame.

But when she saw Charlotte, she immediately masked her emotions and furrowed her brows. “Why are you two
together?”
Charlotte silently stared at the emergency room doors, pressing her lips together, not responding.
Arthur replied, “What are you talking about, Mom?”
His words made Jennifer realize something, and she immediately shut up.
She had heard that they were separated, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.
She couldn't help but wonder if Charlotte was backing out of the divorce.

She truly despised Charlotte and didn’t even spare her a glance.
The sound of wheels moving could be heard, and Sarah’s voice followed, full of concern, “Arthur, what's going on
with Julius?”
Arthur turned to her. “How did you get here?”
Sarah answered, “Mrs. Jennifer Harrison toldabout Julius. | was really worried, so | cto check on him.”
Jennifer spoke up, “Julius really likes you. He'll be so happy to

As she finished speaking, her gaze intentionally flicked toward
Charlotte.
Charlotte remained calm, her eyes fixed on the emergency room door.
Jennifer immediately withdrew her gaze in disgust.
Sarah quickly added, “Mrs. Jennifer Harrison, you're joking. I'm sure Julius would want to see Mrs. Harrison first.
She is his mother, after all.”
At that moment, the emergency room door opened, and the doctors and nurses wheeled Julius out on a
stretcher.
Julius lay there with his eyes tightly shut, his body still covered with red rashes that hadn't gone down yet.
